Tomorrow is the day!! The team are busy with final arrangements for the races which kick off tomorrow at 9am!!
With a 12k, 8k, 5k and 1k for the little ones, there will be lots going on! It will be a day of celebration for all taking part and is extra special as it's the 20th year of this free race which Don Marco has arranged passionately year after year to encourage people to get involved in running, an activity he has pursued for much of his adult life. Keep an eye out for the stories tomorrow and follow the #carrera13denoviembre to follow along with the days events. 😀🏃💪👏👣
Community hostel...giving back to the community. ❤️
"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear" ...and by running an 8k through the beautifully decorated streets of Christmas Town in Busch Gardens! Link in bio to sign up today ❄️⛄
Ok, I’m still totally fried but here goes:
Yesterday was (from our point of view) a resounding success. The atmosphere all day was next level, and the racing was as fast, wild and tight as we’d hoped.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated to such a consistently high level; to the crowd for being so supportive of the competitors and for being so respectful to the site - damage and litter was at an all-time low for an event 👏🏻; to the marshals who kept things moving all day long; to the medics for all of their efforts in keeping you all in one piece and patching you up after your gymnastic efforts 🤕
Without The @b1kemtb Boss, Rich, and Neal from @tidworthb1kepark running the timing there would have been no race, but that doesn’t even begin to cover the work that went on behind the scenes from both of them.
The same must be said for the guys from the club who have worked on getting this #race going for almost the last year, and made sure the event ran smoothly all day.
Give ‘em a 🙌🏻 •
And let’s not forget the businesses who supported us with their presence and assistance on the day, and provided prizes for all of our podiums: @schwalbetyresuk , @dmrbikes , @tftuned , @theridersguild , @mbcyclery , @shredxs
We take pride in working with the most genuine people, who live and breathe riding the same way we do; all of you do yourselves proud by proving it 👏🏻👏🏻 •
@redbulluk brought the noise and absolutely raised the hype levels.
Once again it was great to see such a recognisable company paying it back to the #grassroots 👌🏻 •
And a last shout to the caterers for keeping our stomachs full and our whistles wetted from first-last. •
Thanks everyone, it was worth every minute of prep!
Now, on to the #HooperHoohah 🤙🏼
I survived the 6.6k!! (4-ish miles) the guy who won finished in just under 20 minutes 😳 I don’t even know how that happens!! But I finished in 49 minutes and felt like my legs were gonna fall off! 😭😅 haha!
I swapped my body beast workout for this today and I think I’d rather have faced Sagi 💪 I’m not exactly conditioned for running anymore so I wasn’t being modest when I said I wasn’t sure I could run this whole thing. I will say when I got to the start line, I told myself I would but my legs and lungs said otherwise after the second mile. I did have to walk a little and I was slightly overdressed (it was freezing and then I was sweating 💦) but one thing I’ll say is I love doing this every year! This is my 5th year, the $30 something fee goes to a great cause, and Mario Lemieux is always at the finish line cheering everyone on 🐧 and now I don’t have to run again until next year 😂😂 although I think I’ll actually practice before next year and not wing it like this year 😳
Hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday ☀️ I posted a ton of pics to my Facebook and Instagram stories if you want to check them out 😊
Back to the beast tomorrow for week 3. ❤️ Week 2 - Day 6
Cardio substitute 😅
I’ve lost count...
I think this is either our 11th or 12th consecutive year participating in #RaceForTheCure 🎀
My Mr and I used to be able to finish this race in about 30 minutes when we first started🏃🏻♀️🏃🏼♂️. Then after each child came, it progressively got longer with so many pit stops, snack breaks, stroller switches, and some whines and tantrums. Now we’re close to making this up to a two-hour race 😓
But why do we continue to do this...
💕Because not only is it a crucial lesson to our children about traditions, beliefs, charities, and good health...but more importantly...
💕In memory of my Mama Corazon—my wonderful elegant grandmother who died too young from breast cancer.
💕In celebration of the strong survivors we know.
💕In support of all women who could potentially be diagnosed with this awful disease—did you know 1 in 3 women will get diagnosed with some form of cancer at least once in their lifetime?
✔️Live a healthy and happy lifestyle
✔️Get regular checkups
✔️And be sure to get adequate protection for you and your loved ones💝
Who else was at this race today?
