Happy International Orangutan Day! @woodlandparkzoo Beautiful and very sweet Orangutans Heran, Belewan, Godek, Chinta and Melati are endangered species native to Sumatra and Borneo. Woodland Park Zoo partners with the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Project to mitigate 5 of their major threats. They are human population pressure, changes in land use pattern, poor law enforcement, deforestation, and poaching/ illegal trafficking. One way we can all help these great apes, is to make sure we only use sustainable palm oil that is deforestation-free. To learn more about palm oil and the fight to save these beautiful souls, please go to zoo.org and look at the Saving Wildlife/ Partners for Wildlife link at the top of the page. Thank you!! Don’t forget to post your @woodlandparkzoo “Endangered” photos for this week’s photo challenge by midnight tonight and use #thisishowwezoo
Next week will be the last week. Can’t wait to see who the Photo Challenge winners are! Many thanks to the zoo for hosting the photo fun and to everyone who participated. I really loved all of your awesome and creative photos! 😍🙌🏼💚
Thank you everybody that’s been supporting me. Hard days this past weeks but I’ve always learn from them. You see who is really important. You see who really matters. Thank you all for the messages of love. You will never be forgotten. We are fine. And everything will be ok soon. It was a scary moment, still is but we will be together soon my love. No evil will harm you. Because you are very close to God’s heart. Mommy is always here for you. ❤️
