With the weather declining in the Midwest here is a seasonal tip from our off road and unimproved road courses. When your are wenching a vehicle or yanking anything out with chains or tow straps, place a jacket, shirt or something else that can dampen the strap if it breaks free. Even a small amount of weight can keep straps and hooks from flying out of control and close the ground managing the risk of severely injuring or even killing someone in the area. I was getting this truck and trailer out on my own, so it was in neutral. If I had someone in the truck, I would have raised the hood to protect them if something were to break free and go through the windshield.
