Every time I see this, “The Forest of Arrows by V.F. Sharp,” it’s so surreal!!!
I never imagined that I could ever write a novel and here I am... close to publication and the storytelling has only just begun!! Oh my goodness!!!! 😮😮😮

I cannot fully express how excited I am about this novel! Ahhhhhh!!!!! Less than 50 days until it’s publication! My editor and I are working hard to make that date happen! This week was challenging with the edits, my endo kicked up my nerves causing shaking in my hands, making it hard to type. But I already decided a ways back that I’m not going to let ME stand in the way of ME finishing this book 😂! .
some pains have returned like zombies rising out of the grave🧟♀️🧟♂️. 😠😞🙄. I see my doc in about 3 weeks and will ask more about this cancer pill. I’m really praying for this pill to work! .
Did I mention less than 50 days until my debut novel’s release!? 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😁😁😁😄😄
#quietwriting day 3 practice and tools.
This is tool no. 1: an empty book, complete with pen.
I write morning pages every day and I have at least three of those books, in varying formats, for work and organizing my ideas, taking notes during conversations... I also carry a smaller book in my handbag, to write haikus when I have the opportunity.
I never worry about what I wrote down. I rarely read up what I jotted down. In my experience, texts take care of themselves. It really is all about the process. Take good care of the process, and the product will take care of itself. Good writing comes from writing.
day 1: creative space
In my first years on the Island I found myself climbing on my bike and just riding around, stopping wherever a sight caught my fancy, then sitting down, fishing my book out of the saddlebag and writing. What did I write? - Just #hereandnow texts: what I saw, heard, felt, the nature around me, the sun, the eternal wind, the moving grass, the seagull's cries. As time went by, I found that some spaces inspired me more than others: a bit of grassland in the marshes, sitting quietly by the hedge, hares and pheasants moving freely around me in their very own worlds.
A bank by the pond in a village, opposite a posh hotel, watching the comings and goings of villagers in the very early morning, when the tourists still sleep and all the hidden work of running the hotel and restaurant needs to be done quietly, the cleaning, the stocking up on wine and fish, the furtive moments of gossiping.
A place by the sea in a dune, out of the wind. Just letting go of the permanent internal keeping track of time. Just sitting, listening, breathing and getting a sunburn.
There are so many more instants of being in touch with my creativity. I didn't even talk about being in my garden, photographing the flowers.
The whole Island is my creative space, all year round.
Thanks @writingquietly for the challenge! Well done and I heartily recommend your feed!
It all began with a dream...
...when I awoke, I had to write it...
...to share the story...

Life throwback #3
So what inspired me to write a book, being that I loved my job & had never thought ‘me’ writing a book was even possible🤔 lol? My views on writing a book was like, no way. It seemed extremely hard and too tedious. So what finally pushed me?
🛌🌛A dream. Literally, I went to bed and had a dream that inspired me by giving me the most amazing dream I had ever had. I felt like I had gone to see a movie like LOTR that night lol. I woke up amazed at the story. .
I told my family about it, and they encouraged me to write it. I tried to set that thought aside while working on a tv show. The thought didn’t go away. I actually began to feel a bit of selfishness if I didn’t share this story. .
Having no clue on where to even start in writing a novel, I decided to set my job in the movie industry aside for a year, and write this story! .
And I am SO GLAD I did! .
The Forest of Arrows coming soon!!
