Sit to write. Make it right. - 52
I think I am getting more structured around Instagram now. Yesterday morning, I literally spent my entire time creating content for my #sittowritemakeitright handle with all my writing tips. So, yes, they will be showing up gradually on my feed. Trust me, they are going to be extremely helpful. And I feel I could do it because of all the support I get from some of the nicest friends I have here. 😊
Yoooo let's spend a week appreciating our characters - in other words boasting to the world how fabulous they are! Because which one of us doesn't like opening up our world to everybody?
One day, one character, tell us all about them. What do they look like, what food do they like, what are they scared of? Tell us, we want to know! Doesn't matter of your book is finished or is just an idea in the ether, shine some light on your creations!
We have such a supportive community, it's time to keep spreading the love and support.
DM me for more information! Look forward to all your posts!
Tonight on my trail run I fell not once, not twice, but three times.
The 1st time I fell to my knees. The 2nd and 3rd time I fell flat out on my belly with cheek in the mud.
I have had a couple tumbles in my day on trail runs but never 3 times on one run. I was pissed off. But then I had to ask myself why am I falling? Yes, this trail is very technical. It has huge octopus-like tree roots that are gnarled and raised. You have to be aware. You have to know where you're going and pay attention. That was my problem. I wasn't paying attention. I was thinking about so many things that absolutely have no answers, no true bearing on my life, just distractions and nonsense and weightless predictions that kept me from being in the moment. Being in the moment-- being present. That's a really hard thing to do. How many times a day do you drift to the past or the future? Do you try to dissect every wrong, every right? The erradic behaviour of others? Of yourself? That damn loop of ridiculousness that plagues your every move?
Enough. My lesson today was loud and clear. God was really working with me on my run today. Over and over, 3 times as I landed in the mud.
I'm telling you it was a sign, it was a lesson. Pay attention. Don't let those gnarled roots grab you by the ankles and throw you to the ground. Don't let that repetitive, negative behavior knock on your door and bring you to the past or to the future, or anywhere that you cannot control.
Stay true to you.
Yesterday offered a myriad of emotions. It handed them on a platter and asked me to choose. But I didn’t. I stayed calm and collected. And it got me wondering a little about this little ol’ thing we call life. It’s short. It’s tempestuous, and then calm. It’s happy, and then sad. It’s lovely, and then it’s awful.
But there is so much in this crazy world that is beautiful, endearing and well worth the love. Just look outside at nature’s call and see for yourself. Or look at a loved one, smile, and tell them you love them.
Don’t take life for granted! Hold your loved ones close. Remember to smile. Take care of yourself. Allow yourself to be happy!
That’s my advice for the day ☺️
“All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.”
— The Wind in the Willows
I handed in my copyedits for THE SKY WEAVER yesterday! ⚓️⚔️🌊 Fun fact: my computer crashed roughly 30 seconds after I sent it to my editor, which I’m considering a miracle, because I definitely forgot to back it up. 🙃🙃🙃 Anyways! I love that day-after feeling of hitting your deadline and then suddenly realizing you can now do anything you want (until you remember all the things you’re behind on because of said deadline ...🙈) What should I do to celebrate? Binge-watch Star Wars? Work on a new project? Spend the day reading? Run around the house ten times? 😉 Also, yes, that IS the opening of Chapter One on my computer screen. And if you zoom in, you can read it. ⚓️⚔️🌊
The bookshop is all set up for C2E2! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Booth 1590! 📚 Fantasy novels, children’s books, prints, buttons, & nature canvas prints!
Fellow artists/vendors: Let me know if you’ll be here and what your booth number is! I want to swing by everyone’s booth to do little features for my YouTube channel. 😊

I was so happy when @usborneya sent me this free copy of The Stolen Ones by Vanessa Curtis! This sounds like a super exciting book and I can’t wait to read it!
Let me share the blurb with you so you can see why I think this sounds really promising:
My name is Inge. I am sixteen. I live in Munich. Food is rationed, though the war ended years ago. My boyfriend is Jewish. My parents would not approve, so I hide this from them. I think they are hiding something from me, too. Letters arrive on my birthday, but they are not addressed to me. They are for a girl named Kasia. This is her story.
What are you guys up to today? I needed a change of scenery today so I actually got out of the house and I’m currently at a cute little coffee shop, doing some writing and enjoying a vegan chai latte. I’ve been procrastinating my studies quite a bit lately so let’s not talk about my essay which is due tomorrow.

a lil late to the party but 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢 𝚜𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚢 𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜 🌼
can we just take a sec to appreciate the stranger things 3 trailer? because that thing was truly demogorgeous
that pun was awful
but speaking of stranger thangs, something that i’ve always really really LOVED about books/movies/shows is when they’re set in different time-periods. whether it be past or future, i instantly find things to be so much more interesting! (hence my immense love for ‘the night circus’ by erin morgenstern).
okay. if you could travel to the past or future, which would you choose?

This post really spoke to me because I feel like my own flaws can be perceived as positive in certain ways, and most of the characters I write are the same way. For example, ambition can lead to characters being successful, but also biting off way too much for them to chew, creating major problems. What are some “positive flaws” in your story?
