An important mantra of mine: “Move the mics, get your tones, and make it sound right at the source. Never rely on fixing it in the mix.” ⚡️ Doing some tracking later tonight. Hope everyone is having a great #tapetuesday!
Smoke Bilsby of the The Bilsby Brothers @smokebilsby
This was taken from a live performance, shortly after the Premier of the Bilsby Brothers' documentary "The Ties that Bind." Of all the venues I have frequented in my years, I must say, The Saint is one of the best sounding clubs for a live performance, hands down. I felt as though I was listening to this band, straight out of my KRK-VXT 8 studio monitors. Props to the audio engineer at this venue.
Big shout out to Jarrod, @purple_fox_productions
For doing an incredible job on this documentary. It was great being apart of this production. Looking forward to many many more great productions with Jared and The Bilsby Brothers.
Location: The Saint, Asbury Park
Gear: Sony A7iii, Sony 24-105 f4, a couple of Rotolight NEO IIs, Elinchrom Skyport wireless transmitter, Lightroom
@lapwingstudio uses #AKG#C414XLS microphones to capture detailed guitar recordings of a 1974x Marshall Combo and a Fender Twin Reverb. @jackbennettuk studio owner said, “[the recordings] sounded incredible at low/medium volumes.” Thanks for sharing with us!
