I’m on an unscheduled early morning flight QF1934 to Alice Springs.
Remind me again why I must fly to Alice Springs today?
Oh yeah, it is because a mechanic in Melbourne forgot to put the filler plug back on the gearbox of one of my Troopies after checking the oil.
My customer decided (and I can honestly not blame them) that waiting for 10 days in Coober Pedy for parts was not an option, so they left the replacement rental vehicle in Alice Springs.
Now I got the joy to get up at 3.15 AM to fly to Alice Springs, drive to Coober Pedy and wait for the mechanic (not the same one!) to replace the gearbox before driving the Troopy back home to Perth.
So much for doing the right thing and having the vehicles serviced in between rentals.
The joy of running your own business at Christmas time when getting parts is taking so long because truckies also want some time off. (can’t blame them either). As an added bonus the temperature is forecasted to be mid to high 40’s for the foreseeable future in the red centre. Centigrade that is. I have packed frozen water for the first day.
Breakfast was served by Melissa, Michelle, Susan and Teagan. Scrambled eggs, quite nice at home, not so much on a Qantas flight. Not sure what Qantas is feeding their chooks, but I guess carton boxes is close. As usual, the best part was the sausage.. #QF1934#airlinefood#qantas#qantaslink#B717-200 #1C#goodbaduglyqff@qantas#aeromeals#planefood#planemeal#airplanefood#airplanemeal#airlinemeal#inflightmeal#inflightfood#aviation#aviationgeek#avgeek#igaviation#instaaviation#instatravel#travel#foodporn#foodstagram
