Silver Springs State Park has been the location for many films and tv shows like Tarzan, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Sea Hunt, and I Spy, which left these 3 statues on the bottom of the springs. It’s a fun little stop if you are traveling. Saw a couple manatees and a gator while on the glass bottom boat tour. Have not seen any Rhesus monkeys in two visits there; maybe next time.
🎵I'll bring you flowers
And a burning flame
Dance in the colours
Of the summer rain
If I put my love in your palm
Would you show me who you are?
I know we learn from our scars
Wild spirits, young hearts🎵
Well I redrew and this time colored the random adventurer I drew on paper recently. Once again no name just like the catgirl but sometimes you just gotta draw what's in your head!

Performance Lows: my mental shit-show that prevented me from reaching one of my biggest dreams 😵 Read on to see how crucial your mental game is when it comes to performance! 🌱 Don’t forget to sign up for my FREE WEBINAR - Perform At Your Peak: Learn From An Athlete’s Mindset (link in bio).
Photo 2: The trick (switch back 5) I fell on that ended my dreams of going to the 2014 Olympics for slopestyle.
To paint the picture: I was tied for the 4th spot to go to the Olympics and this was the last event and my last chance to try to make the team. I landed my first run with a score of 85. My teammate landed her first run too, scoring an 87. So with the first runs done I was currently sitting out from going to the Olympics. I HAD to land my second run, I HAD to beat an 87 to go.
So what happened? I was a complete mess inside my head and inside my body. The only way to explain that feeling was that I was being eaten alive from the inside out. That morning I couldn’t eat because I was so nervous and so fearful of not making the Olympics.
Back to my second run, my last chance to make the 2014 Olympic Team. I knew three things: I was currently not going to the Olympics, I had to beat an 87, and I had ONE MORE chance to do that.
I did my best to overcome the pressure and negative thoughts. I listened to my music, took some deep breathes, visualized my run, and did my best to stay positive — that was very hard though.
I drop in for my second run (my last chance), rode the rails well and I was riding into the first jump telling myself “DON’T FALL, DON’T FALL”. So what did I do? I FELL. The first thing that came to my was “I’m not going to the Olympics”. Hard pill to swallow, and what was to come after that has been a journey to say the least.
I share this story because I know how hard performing can be, mentally and physically. I would have done a lot of things different, like practice my mental skills. In the moment I relied on tools I had learned, but didn’t practice them daily. A key to performing at your peak.
I will go more in depth about the tool I (and others) use to preform at my best in my FREE WEBINAR (link in bio)!
