Can you guess what all of these items have in common? Hint: the anti- cavity ingredient in the toothpaste....fluoride. Fluoride is one of those controversial subjects and one that has been heavily supported (and marketed) by the American Dental Association throughout history but taking in high daily levels can lead to skeletal or dental fluorosis, a bone and tooth disease from excessive fluoride accumulation. It may further add to our exposure to chemicals like chlorine and bromine that block our absorption of iodine, which we need for healthy thyroid function.
Besides toothpaste, other places we may be exposed to fluoride are:
✨pesticides ✨fluoride pills
✨fluoridated water ✨grape products- grapes, raisins, wine from CA
✨non- organic chicken products because of how they debone the chicken ✨black tea, also commonly found in kombucha
Other fluoride facts:
✨used as a pesticide
✨common air pollutant ✨can cause nose bleeds and acne at toxic levels
✨it bio-accumulates in the body with a half life of 20 years for bone and teeth (just means we don’t get rid of it quickly!) Bottom line, decrease exposure to fluoride. Get your water tested, eat organic to avoid pesticides and if using fluoride toothpaste don’t let your kids swallow it. Studies show kids swallow more fluoride than is recommended for daily consumption. Because fluoride is added to water in much of our water supply it will also show up in soda, juices, sports drinks and many other processed foods including infant foods. Some sources say that we shouldn’t ingest more than 4 grams/ day and that skeletal changes can be seen at 5 mg/ day.

Day 12 of the #SkinEmmies2018 | PM routine 🌙
Challenge hosted by @antiagingamber & @morethanjustskin ❤️
Most nights, I use my AM moisturizer as my PM moisturizer; in colder months, I add 2 drops of @alkimiskin Cinco Oil. But sometimes, my skin needs something else at night:
Biologique Recherche Creme Dermopurifiante: a recent addition to my skincare. After a failed attempt to get it, I finally got my hands on this BR cream, known as the go-to-moisturizer for unbalanced, prone to breakouts, combination or reactive skin. It helps to purify the skin, reduce the appearance of redness & regulate oil production (brand claims). In addition, is super hydrating (treats seborrheic skin without drying out the epidermis) and anti-aging too (win-win). INCI is long – here’s a few fave ingredients: niacinamide, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid, gluconolactone, willow bark extract, centella asiatica, witch hazel, glycerin, urea, sodium hyaluronate, mimosa extract, allantoin…). After 1 month of use, all I can say is that is very hydrating & balancing (not a single breakout). Not a bad start 👍🏻
Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb: SUPER hydrating & moisturizing without feeling heavy or greasy; and dehydration–prone combo skin loved it more than the “aqua bomb” version! This black-hat jar of soft cream is all about helping skin hold onto moisture as it contains glycerin, mantle extract, glycerin, oat kernel extract, calendula, ceramides, comfrey leaf, macadamia seed oil… It does not contain synthetic fragrances but it has a natural scent, which might cause irritation to super sensitive skin (I had no issues!). Great option if you have normal-dry skin or combo skin that needs an extra night blanket 👍🏻
Biologique Recherche Creme Masque vernix: I wrote a detailed review about this cream-mask – see #skinminimalistloves BRvernix , which is simply 1 of the best BR products I ever tried! Its repairing & protective abilities are remarkable! For most BR creams, you can find similar options for a better price but Vernix is the exception: I can't find anything that remotely compares to it! Ideal to repair skin’s lipidic barrier. Obvious repurchase ❤️

Rant?? I guess?? Normally I edit my photos quite a lot just to get rid of my acne. These photos are unedited other than the light effects from the actual app itself. If you know me you know I’ve never had the best skin, but I’m trying to learn to be okay with myself and I think that that can come from something has simple as being okay with the redness of my skin and all of the bumps and acne that I have. I have insecurities just like anyone else and my skin is a huge insecurity I’ve had for a while so I am trying to lessen the redness and bumpiness of my skin with doctor prescribed medication but, like anything, it’s going to take time before my skin is clear. So, in the time between now and (hopefully) when my skin is clear I want to work on self-love and self-care and just realizing that red bumps on my cheeks don’t define me and I will not let myself feel ugly or unattractive because of them. End of rant lol
9 MONTH SKIN TRANSFORMATION 💪🏽😍😱😍💦🧠
OMG WHOOO IZZZZ SHEEE 😱😍👀 I did that 💪🏽💪🏽 I changed my life. Your face isn’t everything. But it’s the first thing people see when they see you. They remember your face quicker than they recognise your name. Your face is your identity but it is not WHO YOU ARE 🧠 I was remembered as the girl with spots, acne, baaaad skin, too much make up, ugly. It broke me that no matter who I was, my skin made my first impression for me. It destroyed my confidence that it was unimportant how funny or bubbly or friendly I was, I was defined by my SKIN. I went from the girl who held her head high because she was SO proud of herself for being different to girl who covered her face because it was different. I was NOT ME 😭❌ It took me A LONG TIME to realise that I don’t need to recreate a whole other human because I’ve been diagnosed with cystic acne. I CAN STILL BE ME. I did everything the world told me too 🌍 I drank litres of water 💦 & I quit make up, tried every face mask 😷. I did everything in the book to find the solution to ALLLLL MY PROBLEMS 💪🏽 I searched the fricking earth 🌎 I am grateful that I found the cure to MY cystic acne as it was hindering my progress in countless ways ❌ Disclaimer: not everyone’s cystic acne can be cured with one pill - acne varies from person to person. Even if the cause is the same, the cure may differ 👀☝🏽💯 ———————————————
How I cured my cystic acne ⁉️⁉️
• I take the Yasmine pill everyday (oral contraceptive which recalibrated my hormone levels to prevent break outs!) 💊
• I use aloe Vera + witch hazel on any new breakouts to cool my skin down & prevent the inflammation from spreading ❄️🌿🌵
• I use ice every night to close my pored & cool my heated skin ☃️☃️
• I wash my face twice a day with coooooold water 💦❄️
• I remove make up PROPERLY 💦🌪
• I use rose hip seed oil for my scarring 🌹
• I use activated charcoal face masks A LOT to cleanse my skin & extract impurities 🌪🌪
tell me again how I just needed to quit milk to fix my face, I dare ya.
today vs 4months ago vs 6months ago
cystic acne healing is S L O W, and then all at once, and then a lot of ‘holy shit, did my skin really look like that? did I really show up for work every day? did I really not lock myself indoors and retreat into a pit of self loathing and despair?’ [most certainly fought the daily urge to do the latter for a good while] [[almost certainly would have quit my job if it weren’t for dermatology bills.]]
a year ago I’d never known a cyst on my skin. definitely didn’t know acne could get so bad so quickly. certainly still sometimes feel a sense of loss for the clear and unscarred skin I used to have, as well as for all the time this year I spent feeling hideous and judged and wrong and unlovable. Not to mention all the time I spent succumbing to popularised misconceptions and blaming myself for a difficult medical condition I had zero control over. And the past 10months would all feel really quite unfair and meaningless if I didn’t believe there is some good coming from what was- and sometimes still is- an unpleasant time. There’s the good in the invaluable things it’s taught me and there’s the good in the way you sweet souls tell me reading about those things helps you. Thanks for sticking around to see these three photos, and thanks for helping me bring meaning to a tough few months and a painful skin condition.
6months from now all will be different again, and I have no doubt more of you will be able to join me in your own disbelief at how far you’ve come.
So just like hang in there and keep going and know there are brighter days to come 🌞
Engga tau kenapa, hari ini hati kayak gloomy aja disetiap keadaan. Termasuk mikirin skin condition aku skrg huhu. Baru aja kmren better eh skrg malah breakout lagi berbondong2. Kurasa memang dosaku membiarkan kulit wajah terpapar sinar matahari tanpa sunscreen begitu saja (waktu aku puasa skincare) wkwk. Tapi, gimanapun aku selalu usaha untuk gak ngeluh lagi. Selalu merasa yakin kalau aku jerawatan begini banyak hikmahnya, banyak manfaatnya.
One of my fave word from my support system "kamu tetap cantik dan akan selalu cantik, kamu perempuan hebat" @dkgustima ❣️
Yakin gamau nyusul untuk sembuh dan terus ngeluh?🤗

Is it big headed of me to say I feel beautiful in both pictures or would I be attention seeking to say I don’t feel pretty without makeup? My point being, you can’t win either way, people will have shit to say no matter what you do. Now wouldn’t you prefer to just love yourself in whatever form rather than constantly feel under pressure to look a ‘certain’ way and not feel good enough? It takes time but when you start to believe you’re beautiful, you then start to see it too. No matter what we’re all beautiful in our own individual ways 💗🧡💚💜♥️💙🖤 new video will be up on this look soon🤪 #skinpositivity#fauxfilter#loveyourself#undiscoveredmuas#hudabeauty#acne#cysticacne#selflove#makeupartist

📍ACNE • Part II 💥
Today it’s about the HABITS most of us DON’T DO & because of that, some might be dealing with more stubborn breakouts & more frequents flareups.
Last week’s post was more technical. Part III will be about home remedies, Part IV will feature DIY Recipes & Part V will go over tips that will help avoid future breakouts.
I’m hoping all this information will help change lives, because THAT’S how damaging acne can be! ********* Please don’t forget to ALWAYS consult with a doctor first, before trying anything on your own. Acne is no joke!
Today & everyday, remember this:
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL & I 💗 YOU!! 🆃 🅰🅶🌟🅰 🅵🆁🅸🅴🅽🅳 who would love to know this too!
Post vampire facial 💉 @juvly_aesthetics
As you guys know, I’ve been getting PRP microneedling for the past few months now to deal with some of my deeper acne scarring, texture & uneven skin tone. Anddd I gotta say- the results have been pretty darn AMAZING. I was already a huge fan of at home micro-needling to begin with so I knew professional microneedling would be a good treatment option for my more stubborn scars! A vampire facial or PRP facial is where your blood is drawn, spun in a centrifuge, PRPs are extracted, and then micro-needled back into your skin to promote collagen production & allow for a quicker healing time. Today we used a 1.5 mm needle & ALOT of PRP. (My body made some extra vials - I guess I’m just super health which is cool??) Anyways check out my story to see the process & drop any questions you have below! My face tends to have a tiny bit of post procedure swelling afterwards so I will be sure to update you guys on my progress in just a few days :-) #juvlypartner
