Happy Monday and day 7 of #mindfulomies. I’m grateful for flexibility. Yes physically, and though mostly mentally. Being on vacation right now has given me mind blowing awareness of my own growth, specifically in terms of eating disorder recovery. Actually being able to eat what I want, when I want, and not having my body in such starvation that mealtime was an absolute misery. For myself, for my family, and likely for everyone in the vicinity. It hasn’t been that way in years, and these last few days have been a beautiful reminder of that. Freedom, enjoyment, conversation, genuine laughs, yummy food. For me, THIS is one of the many benefits I’ve gotten from my yoga practice. Access to BEing present with my family, not only in theory.. in practice🙏🏽☀️🌊🌴

Day 7 of the #selflovechallenge with @epicself and today is about unplugging and being nature.
Being outdoors is something I love and definitely don't take advantage of, especially living so close to the bay and Jersey Shore area.
Unplugging and not worrying about anything other than what is filling your senses is so rejuvenating and clearing. It's also so important to disconnect so you can be present in the space you are in. Whether you are alone or with friends or loved ones, being present with is everything. When you are alone it gives you time to check in with yourself, see how you are feeling, what is going on in your head and heart. When you are with others, it gives you time to absorb the energy and space you're in. With all the technology around us, it's so easy to get caught up in the scrolling and the never ending feeds. Don't forget that outside that screen there are people and things around you that are full of life and awaiting your time.
PS...I totally didn't want to post this picture as there are a million things I can find "wrong" with it. Oh well, here I am accepting where I am today and on this journey 😊

We’d also attempt two other new surprise poses when time permits! No worries, poses modifications will be shown for every level’s accessibility 😘 Come on in this weekend (no classes at home studio next weekend 1&2 Dec as we make way for family gatherings). DM us to book your mat space. Let us know if you are coming on Saturday or Sunday. Bring a mat, friends, a bottle of water and a small towel and we’ll see each other on the mat.

2. Sunrise #joyfolkyoga at Jetty Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir is as usual this Saturday. 7-8am see ya there as we yoga in the open air surrounded by the lake. No bookings req just turn up. Fee by donation as we raise funds for our new yoga studio.
Direction: From Jalan Ampang, take a left turn after Petronas Jalan Rhu. Arriving at T-Junction, turn right. Stay there until you see Jordan Embassy, and then turn left into Jalan Kedondong, stay there until you find an entrance into the park. The jetty is exactly there!

I do this everyday I feel discouraged by progress. I’ve come so far in my journey but I still have lots of days that I feel discouraged with my progress and where I am. Wanting to be further along or feeling like I didn’t give the last week or day my all. I straighten my big girl pants and try again. Stand up straighter and work again. Over and over. Consistency is the key to success in anything you do ♥️♥️♥️

It is through cultivating greater awareness that I have been able to make incredible changes in my life. Just being able to see that ´thing’...
the negative thoughts, the fear, the jealousy, the lies... whatever ´thing’ we are working on at the time provides the opportunity to actually change it. Otherwise, we continue to stay blind to our vices, we continue to see what the ego wants us to see.
‘Ignorance is bliss’ is such an old saying, and a great way to keep ourselves as sheep in the world. It’s an easy way out, until you realize that it only locks you in a karmic loop holding you back from embodying true bliss, which is divine.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from our 2.5 years of marriage is to never act or make a decision from a highly emotional or negative state.
In the beginning of our marriage, it was like Ezra and I were somehow speaking different languages completely. To top it off, I was pregnant. Life was intense in a way it had never been before. We had no idea how to support each other’s lives...not to mention the one that was coming forth through us.
There were many, many days that I thought we weren’t going to make it.
But there were more days that were the best of our lives in between.
We learned each other’s languages by making all the mistakes. Sometimes too many times. And with each seemingly impossible forgiveness, and each letting go, we had begun to realize that underneath it all, our hearts have spoken the same language all along.
We just had to be still enough, bare enough to remember.

this flexibility here comes from practice and years of it
it’s not determined by weight or size
but by how much time you spend working on it
but it’s seen a lot that unless your on the thinner side you can’t be flexible or do yoga
I am grateful that I am making an impact in that area and changing those views
to show that yes — you can be thin or curvy as fuck and still do yoga
that yes — you can develop flexibility with time, you don’t need to have it from the get go
that yes — you can wear whatever the fuck you want and be confident
I may get trolls here and there, and I may get some who can’t help but share their disapproval of my clothing, poses, or whatever
that’s okay — I know my voice is helping many
I only need my approval
and I damn well have it ✌🏻

I’ve been really drawing my awareness to all of the pure blessings in my life, that sometimes I tend overlook.
A mobile, and free body.
A roof over my head, and food in my stomach.
Endless love and support from those around me.
The most epic group of humans I call my friends, but feel more like family.
My puppy, who gives me so much happiness and joy.
Sun on my face.
Music in my ears.
Freedom of speech.
Having a voice, and being able to use it.
The list could go on and on.
Recently, I’ve been working through some really heavy things, so when I do get days where I see nothing but light, I soak in every last inch.
