One of my clients was offended when I used the word “sensitive” in reference to her recently. I had to apologize to her, as it has been quite some time since the word “sensitive” was considered a flaw, in my mind. I had forgotten that many people still crawl away from that word. To me, sensitive and sensitivity are a beautiful thing…a gorgeous aspect to carry. Sensitivity allows us to be aware of others, it means we’re tuned in to something more refined, and perceive a reality that is connected within everything. To be ashamed of our sensitivity is a tragic loss of our selves. Sensitivity is not the same as being one who takes everything personally, or is offended by everything…no, that isn’t sensitivity, that’s self absorption. Sensitivity is quite the opposite, it tunes us in to where love lies in life, it tunes us in to empathy and higher understanding. Understand your sensitivity so you can experience it as the gift it is. #inspiration#wellbeing#humanity#yoga#kindness#empathy
Nothing better than Christmas gifts from the heart 🤶🏼❤️✨

Moonstone and Lapis Lazuli 💙
Intuition, Guidance, Peace
I read sooooo many self-help/self-love/mindfulness books. I read books about mental illness and how to cope with my OCD. I read spiritual books about the existence of life and how to live by love and light only. Truly they all say a similar message as the quote in this picture. If you can develop the insight that your thoughts do not define you, that your thoughts mean nothing until it becomes an action, if you can let go of this illusion to only "create" happy thoughts and just allow your thoughts to be as they are... You will change and you will grow ❤️

This is me. Me the yogi. Me the mum. Me the wife, me the banker, the daughter & the sister, the brunette, the one who does the shopping but not the cooking, the planner, the big dreamer, the community builder, the one who believes if I can then more often than not, I should.
I am many things to many people, and most of all to myself.
I've got 7 weeks left of maternity leave and I know this is going to be a big test of how I combine all of these things I love: family, career, yoga.
I think it's helped massively that my return date was set in stone before I even gave birth. So it's not something I've agonised about truth be told. Especially as Mr RAD has another 2 months off with Quinn. I'll also be using some of my accrued holiday to work slightly shorter weeks for that time, then we'll be getting a full time nanny when we are both back full-time in April.
l'm looking forward to going back and getting stuck into complex problem solving, in depth discussions about the world and the business, seeing clients and colleagues.
But obviously it means I won't be with Quinn: and I've LOVED every single moment of my maternity leave with him so far. I can't imagine exactly what it's going to feel like spending whole days away from him. But it doesn't feel impossible right now.
I've already seen how I am a better mum to him when I do things that fill me up as well as spend time with him: yoga, time alone with friends and family and myself.
My career has helped me grow so much as a person these last 12 years: my confidence, my knowledge, my drive. And it's enabled us to live the life we want to as the family we have now become. Living in a beautiful house, in one of the best cities in the world, and affording two lots of parental leave simultaneously for example.
Maybe there will be a day where Quinn needs the version of me, or our life, without these things - the physical ones and the personal. But for now, this is what is best for all of us. Our unique family in our unique circumstances.
So here's to all the unique mums, dads, and families finding their own unique way of doing it as well. .

Another amazing tutorial from @miz.liz - our favorite account for all things stretchy and handstand 🙏🏻 read below for details Yogateacher @miz.liz
✨How to Open Shoulders✨
Open shoulders are beneficial for lots of things - backbends, handstands, overhead extension, counteracting the hunched/forward shoulders position of every day life, etc ~
Here are some of my favorite shoulder openers you can incorporate into your practice!
1. Down dog
3. Standing forward fold with clasped hands behind back
4. Thread the needle (from table top) - option to half bind top arm around low back + switch sides
5. Tricep stretch
6. Gohmukhasana (cow face) arms - take a strap or towel if you can't bind hands quite yet! + switch sides
7. Fists behind back
8. Grab opposite elbows behind back - switch crossing
9. Reverse prayer
10. Child's pose with reverse prayer
11. Puppy dog
12. Puppy dog with chest and armpits completely on the ground (this is a great chest opener as well)
13. (in any pose) Gate arms and squeeze shoulderblades together
14. Camel - getting into the backbends 😉 but this is a great shoulder/heart opener when you're sufficiently warm
15. Bow pose - another backbend, kick back into feet for more of a chest/shoulder stretch
16. Shoulder circles with strap or towel (I'm using a resistance band here) - to lubricate the shoulder joint before deeper openers/backbends!

The thing about the New Year is that you don’t have to wait for it to start changing your life and doing sh%t for yourself 💥
Two months ago I decided I didn’t need to wait for New Years day to take care of things. So I made a list. A list of all the things I wanted to accomplish - big or small items with no deadlines. Originally I was going to wait until New Years to take care of buzinuss 💁🏻♀️ but why not start right then? It was a brand new day, just like that one on Jan 1 with no difference other than I probably wasn’t as tired as I’ll be on Jan 1 🙊 I had 10 items on my list and these past couple months I checked off 8 items! Complete ~ I did it! ✔️ Some of them were super important, so I’m feeling proud of myself. I even added a few more things on to the list so I can keep going. I have already done so much more than I thought I could, and only because I decided to start NOW. You can too. Don’t wait until a new year to start working out or treating yourself better, or changing your life! ❤️☺️ That’s all for Tuesday thoughts, tata for now!
This cropped sweater from @scout.and.gem along with my @wholesomeculture hoodie saved me last week in California.
I was excited for warmer weather, but it’s not That much warmer in CA in the winter 😆😅❄️ So I discovered the superpowers of fleece-lined clothing: even if you have sandals on and it’s 40ish degrees - you’re gonna be ok 😝

Progress. Transformation. Learning. Strength. .
The outward improvement of my practice has been a slow but consistent one. One I’m proud of and will continue to explore, refine and improve as I keep down my journey. But the biggest transformation for me from these two moments is not shown through my pose, but radiates from inside me. Looking at myself back in 2017 and I see the fragile person I was, encased in a fake suit of confidence. The woman who was riddled with insecurity, constant comparisons and a need to prove her worth to everyone. Her outer shell of protection so thick because of her fear to failing and rejections that she was brittle and hard. Someone who was weak because she was unable to see how strong she truly was in her heart. .
I still have all those insecurities but instead of hiding from them I embrace them, learn from them and know that they make me stronger. My heart, now wide open, carries countless new scars but they don’t make me hide anymore because each one has taught me I will survive. I’m more open and accepting of the world because I no longer fear it. I accept everything that comes along, knowing that in each moment of fear and hurt, I am strong enough to rise above and survive. .
In all honesty I’m damn proud of my journey so far - and I’m so grateful to the people who have either helped and held my hand or pushed me down on my way to where I am now, because you all taught me something about myself that has shaped me today. .
So today I want you all to take stock of where you are right now and see how far you’ve come on your journey. Try to let go of the “what ifs” and bitter grudges because they will only hold you back on the future steps you still have to take. No matter what has or is happening you’re strong enough to survive and keep walking and rise up from whatever is thrown at you! .
Tag someone who has inspired you, you’re proud of or you think needs some inspiration to love their journey today!! 💖 . .
