I never wanted to be one of those couples that was always posted up on the gram flexin and showing PDA but this man right here. He consumes all my love. Through his love I learned A LOT about this one simple word called love.
Relationships are meant to Teach. They teach us how to love one another and not just love them when they are doing everything you want them to do but love them even when they do nothing at all. Love them when you can’t recognize the person you met. Love them when you see their potential and help them get there. Love them even when they forget about scheduled plans you guys had. Love them when they surprise you and love them when they don’t. My mother told me love isn’t just a word that we throw around. Love is an action verb. It helps us understand by showing us things. Love is what a person does for you. Whether that is helping you by simply reminding you to be on time, grabbing food for you because you forgot to eat, or helping you wind down when you’re super stressed. Love isn’t about what they buy you and how much they spend because anyone can drop some coins on you and still treat you like dirt. Love is how someone adds value to your life. It’s how someone helps you see things you cannot see by yourself. Love shows us our blind spots and helps us prepare for them. Love isn’t and shouldn’t be glorified one day of the year or when you both are happy. It should be present and displayed every time you’re up and especially when you’re down because that’s what love is. How do you define love?
