Gosh this 1 got me thinking. I think the way things worked out for me with Mom being sick and from an early age going to spend summers with the cousins the swimming 1 is a bit meh!!! We did go to the beach but not sticking out.... Sure down in Shanagarry there were some swims but summer holidays for me I was happier to be swimming horseback!! Having just returned from Kerry today fresh in my mind is a day on the beach with my Kilkenny cousins(I would Gate crash their annual summer holiday ya know!) I'm eager to find out if they remember which beach it was... I know it was in Kilkenny! I mean Kerry! Naturally I know that Kilkenny is inland but I'm suffering severely with baby brain... (Sure at this stage I should have just deleted the word!) As we got older our neighbours and great friends would bring us to the lakes in Mullingar with their boat! And oh those were epic evenings, driving home having spent the day falling on and off their boat! Life jackets were on!! (continued Tuesday!) the windsurfing board was some of the best craic!
There were swims in the sea, swims in the river and swims in the lakes!! This pic was taken the other day.. The boys adore the waves the last 4 family holidays we have been fortunate to go on all have 1 thing in common! Our beach bums!! The boys adore the beach! Especially getting into the Sea!! As for the waves... Its true love!!! This was taken at St. Finians Bay.. Also known as the wave beach by the boys!! You can even see The Skelligs in the background!
I love having that feeling of adventure, be it in Ireland with surfboards on top of the car looking for a beach to bum out on for the day, or a bus going through the Philippine islands and having no idea where to get off or where you’re even staying that night. But there’s always that driving force, the want to explore, being comfortable even what nothing around you is certain, it’s pretty much the definition of going with the flow. When Abroad it’s hard to let go of being in control, but I’ve learned to realise that everything will work out, so let’s not stress.

Snapped this at sunrise from the controversial Old Head of Kinsale on the Wild Atlantic Way over the weekend 🌅🌊📸
Why controversial? The Old Head of Kinsale is a stunningly beautiful piece of land that stretches into the Atlantic Ocean, but this view from here is about as far as you can go down the headland 😢🤨
There’s now a private golf course that restricts public access to the Old Head’s famous lighthouse, near where the RMS Lusitania was sunk by German torpedoes in 1915. You can still get dramatic views over the cliffs and ocean like this, but the journey down the headland being cut short is slightly disappointing.
The gorgeous Ashford Castle is perched right on the edge of Lough Corrib in Co. Mayo, but did you know it was home to the famous Guinness family as far back as 1852? A fantastic shot from 📸 @upintheeire
