Blockhuispoort is a former prison in the provincial capital of Friesland, Leeuwarden. The first building on the site dates back to 1449 and it was initially used as a type of fort. It was then turned into a prison in 1580 and also used by the Germans during World War 2. It is now the cultural hotspot of Leeuwarden and used for a variety of things including events space. This is where my friends held a small Instagram exhibition and kindly featured some of my old photos (seen on bottom row of grid) from my other account @preena.mistry! We walked around some of the “blocks” and the cells are used for small businesses and art workshops. There is even a hostel if you would like the novelty of sleeping in a cell for the night with the choice to leave the next day! But, most importantly, it’s where i got the best apple pie i have ever had! If that doesn’t give you enough reason to visit, Leeuwarden (along with Valetta) is also the european capital of culture 2018! What are you waiting for?

Many of the monkeys in the holiday hotspots of Thailand are accustomed to tourists distributing food. This is bad for both monkeys and tourists. For one, the monkeys start to depend on the food given to them. Then, those responsible tourists who do not give out food end up enduring the wrath of those monkeys. These animals can be cute, but they are wild, so be sure to appreciate them from afar.
#Hermanus has been absolutely amazing, this small village is normal knows for its whale watching and shark cage diving! Although I am here during the winter and all the Orca whales have pushed the sharks out of sight! I would suggest everyone to make a day or two trip here and just take it all in! So beautiful!

PARIS, FEBRUARY 17, « it’s time living the life you have imagined ». I quit my job in Paris and decided to go travel on my own. Step 1 : where? Step 2 : how much money I have? Step 3 : when ?
These are the only 3 questions you need to question yourself with. We only live once and I want to live without any regret.
I still don’t know the answer of the “where”. I know the 3 main countries I am going to visit but not too sure about the other steps, the exact dates but it does not matter because I just want to follow the flow !

How did I get there ? (part II)
CORSICA, AUGUST 17 - « how to sail »
One week with complete strangers on a boat, learning how to sail. An amazing time where you leave on a trip alone and learn about a new hobby, you get to know new friends and yourself better. First trip with my bag pack getting less and less confortable. No shower, no confort but the best trip from far.

Krabi is the most relaxing part to be in all of Thailand, it is a province that has the most stunning scenery imaginable, beautiful white beaches that stretch on for miles, a jungle and over 200 islands just of the coast. Krabi covers quite a large area so a lot of the attractions require a fair bit of traveling but when everywhere you look is beautiful it is no hardship at all.
The best time to visit is between November and April as the weather in the South of Thailand can be unpredictable but with many places now opening all year you will always find something to do. 📷-@justwotravel#krabi#krabiisland#krabibeach ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ 💙Tag someone you'd like to go here with.
