Same blouse, different styles. Thought I'd keep the row with a bit of a before/after, skirt/saree styling, which is why there is much archiving and reformatting going on in my feed! .........................
I said it earlier, and will do so here again. If women need to think about enjoying their sarees, without having to worry about which tailor to go to, or who stitches falls and does zig-zag, or if they have a petticoat to match, or if the blouse that can be stitched in time, the accessories and the multitude of things before considering a saree, then the chances of you wearing them would be slim to none, just like in my case for the first few years in the Bay.
I would like to invite you to pair one of your regular tops to work them into your sarees, and drape it without a petticoat.
Look up @borderandfall , @thesariseries , @nikaytaa for inspiration!
The saree is, after all a big rectangular piece of yardage that runs long enough for you to wrap yourself in it. Yes, I mean wrap yourself, not just one way, in any way you think works for your style.
Don't fret about the perfect pleats and perfect length and perfect drape! (you can clearly tell that I don't)
There is one thing to perhaps look out for, happy accidents with the kind of drape! It's ok to a mistake with your drape, don't give up. Start with the familiar nivi for all you care! Get started, dive in and enjoy the saree, it's a thing of beauty and can be enjoyed only if you wear it.
I'm NOT showcasing myself to look like I have a team of people helping with my looks and sarees. I'm here to keep it real, and have fun with it! Come along and join the fun at your own free will! .............................
This saree is also for you @nikaytaa and the precious advice you give right off the bat in your Zine @drapingco
Looking forward to more styling soon! ................................
It's may as well be true, they dipped the tree trunks in Ujala Blue ( #googleit) . But public art like this makes my Friday the highlight of my week. Of course, the trees have sprung leaves this season after the storms, but imagine blue trunks over the winter, bet the Ujala worked! 😁 Ok ok, that's for the entry to this week's saree post. More details about this saree and it's avatars in my life in the following posts. #hashtagsincomments
To everyone who worked their butt off all week long..
Just a happy reminder, today is FRIDAY!
Anyone have anything fun planned for the weekend??!
My head has been stuck in last weekend’s 15 mile hiking adventure since I got back.
Forecast says we’ve got another few really beautiful days ahead.
What to do, what to DO🏖⛺️🚣🏻♀️🏄🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️🧗🏽♀️🍹🌮🌞

#FlashbackFriday to the time my mama would have called the host of heaven to visit the stranger who always called her phone midnight not knowing I was the one.
Before you judge me, please read the story.
Thanks to my mum being a "Mama Bear" I had a phone since I was 10. She wanted to be able to keep in touch with me being a studying-career woman with a family to run. While she did that out of love for her beloveth child it also turned out to be bad. Lol.
As a teenager at some point, I struggled with Insomnia and I would get really mad when everyone else slept well.
One day the thought just crossed my mind that "what if, I hid my number and called everyone's phone while they slept". You can imagine the smirk that made way to face that day, like I made an invention that would save the world.
I did it the first night, nobody said anything and if their phone rang they still went back to bed. So, I continued for about a week. One afternoon, my mum just raised the issue that around 12:30 am - 1:00 am an unknown number calls her. And the number gives her about 4 missed calls. It was then everyone voiced out except me. Immediately my mom said if the person calls that night by the following day she was going to fast and pray that the host of heaven visits that person because the person was disturbing her peace.
You can bet I didn't do it again. How mischievous were you when you were younger?
