Even though Brandon & Kristin had their #wedding in Chicago, they brought along their wedding garb for their #Yosemite honeymoon so we could spend an evening at #taftpoint creating images, and as you can imagine it was incredible.
with a rainy weekend upon us, I can’t help but go through my photos to a time when rain was nonexistent. In theme with my 2017 flashbacks, here’s to one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. This photo does not do #taftpoint justice.
As much as I love the winter, I can’t wait to get my bare feet and my #chacos dirty again.
This past fall I released my favorite #timelapse film yet, ELEVATE. It was the music of @shaundiazmusic that inspired this film into life and if you haven’t seen the film yet I highly recommend you check it out on my website at shawnreeder.com. Shaun and I went on to collaborate on a film capturing his essence as an #artist and we couldn’t be happier with the finished piece. Please check out the link in my bio to see our latest collaboration, or on my page on FB. Onward!
Ever been to Yosemite? Definitely a bucket list place! Read my road trips series finale on my site! *link in bio* Oh and yes I’m nuts.... I can’t resist dangling my legs 7,503 ft off the ground.
This was the best sunset we had ever seen, so it’s only appropriate we make it our first post! Taft Point offers views of Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls (if you’re lucky), and El Capitan. It’s strikingly beautiful during sunset and the clouds add a little touch of drama.
A little bit about ourselves: We’re both from the US and are both in medicine. We are as passionate about traveling as we are about our careers. Travel for us is a way of building a stronger, personal understanding and acceptance of different cultures and ideas. “To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of LIFE.” - From the Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Joey and Kelsey. Never has there been a more adventurous pair....
Would you believe it if I told you these two refinished an old wooden sailboat and then sailed it from San Diego to Nicaragua? At one point they lost their whole crew.. too dangerous to go on.. but they persevered in a foreign land and in a foreign language, they found a way... what if I told you they surfed out at open ocean behind their sail boat, their whole adventure being documented for the Surf Channel? What if I told you when a nasty storm decimated Nicaragua’s coastline, destroying the beloved pirate ship, they moved into an epic tree house resort? What if I told you they lived in Singapore for a year and every weekend they went on a new epic adventure and documented the whole thing ? What if I told you Joey climbs mountains... big ones.. and sometimes solo! One time he even fell into a crevasse (did you break your leg?) some how he made it out alive... another time he raised a small fortune by climbing Mt Elbrus and donated it all to an orphanage in Mongolia where he spent a summer taking the kiddos camping and exploring the outdoors? What if I told you these two wrote the most beautiful wedding vows...
So beautiful EVERYONE was crying (including ME as I watched through my lens and Joey’s 8 groomsmen.) what if I told you these two learned to fly? What if I told you they learned to fly and as fate would have it after over 20 solo flights Joey would fall from the sky breaking his spinal cord... and despite beating all odds, and literally being a living Miracle..
Here he is standing on the edge of a cliff he hiked miles to only a year later and HOLDING the love of his life.
Dance under the stars, howl at the moon, stand naked on a cliff thousands of feet in the air (yes, we have that photo too.) Say “Yes!” to adventure and opportunity.. FIND your voice! Unleash your battle cry! Don’t know what yours is? What noise would you make 3 shots of tequila deep with your best friends as you tilt your head back about to rip your 4th? That, my friend is your battle cry! Be a little more like Joey and Kelsey.
—— And tell me.. WHAT is YOUR battle cry?

One of the highlights of my life so far in regards to places I've ever been to is without a doubt Yosemite. To everyone I've shared my experience with, I've told them that I really didn't fathom the scale of that place. Going to Yosemite was the part of my recent visit to San Francisco that was more of a stubborn whim, I was there for the lesser part of 2 days but I regret nothing (not even having lost my flight the next day due to Murphy's law working against me in it's maximum expression). I know I want to go back, there's just so much to see and so much to explore and overall, so much to experience there. I stopped at a tourist center near there and this sweet retired park ranger lady recommended I hike up to Taft Point to catch the sunset and man was she right on the money with that suggestion! This is one of several pics that I tried to take and capture the grand magnificence of this wonderful place. Take heed, if you're ever up in Taft Point, it's good advice not to get too close to the edge, if you go, you'll see why...

California is the best.
Honestly, do you want warm beaches and sunny skies?🌊 We got it. Do you want rock climbing and badass hikes?🥾🍃 We got it. Do you want snow? We got it as well! Drive a couple hours and you will have a desert or snowy mountains 🏔 you choose!
Haha just an appreciation post to California! 🙂

Thank you for making me smile, and lofting our bed. Thanks for buying me pizza and holding doors for me. Thank you for being just as lazy on our days off as I am, and for being weirder than me 🧡 Thank you for loving me, and lettin me love you ! 📸 @torimercedes thank you for hanging out with us and making memories in our home out here!
“Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand.” - That’s a lesson highlining never fails to teach me. With every fall I seem to learn a little bit more about who I am, the excuses I make when the going gets rough, and how to pick myself back up again when everything seems scary and overwhelming. Life is a big balancing act after all, and sometimes it just feels bad... shaky, long, and terrifying.... where one wrong choice could knock us over or completely take us out.
But that’s life. That is the burden of the human condition that ALL of us feel, and it helps to remember that.
So just like in highlining, when things get rough in life, I do my best to embrace the failure and the falls. Though not easy (as my first reaction is the want to resist), I inevitably embrace these things because I know they are pushing me to grow. Pushing me forward on this uncertain and narrow path called life where there’s nothing worse I can think of than staying stagnant and comfortable.

My life is so strange... we were the last people to see the couple that fell off Taft Point in Yosemite & capture a picture of her in the background of this photo.
R.I.P. to them spending their last moments at one of the most beautiful destinations our world has to offer.
Happy Birthday to my handsome husband🎉 My biggest blessing, my favorite answered prayer, and true love forever. Love you Matt ❤️

Фотографу удалось запечатлеть предложение руки и сердца, сделанное на краю скалы в парке Йосемити, и теперь весь интернет пытается найти влюблённых, чтобы отправить им эту фотографию. Как вы думаете, возможно ли их отыскать?
Matthew Dippel captured a proposal at Yosemite National Park's Taft Point, but has no idea who the couple is. He is now hoping the internet will help him find the newlyweds. "Twitter help," he posted, along with this photo. " Idk who these two are but I hope this finds them. I took this at Taft Point at Yosemite National Park, on October 6th, 2018. " Dippel, who works as a freelance photographer, was on a hike with a friend when he took the photo.
