This year's Kentucky state winner is Ashland Middle School! Last year, a previous team from Ashland MS won $170,000 in Samsung technology for their school by creating a device that could safely pick up drug paraphernalia. “It’s pretty cool to be in the competition again. We saw how helpful it was to the community and it’s good to know we could help some more,” said eighth-grader Aubree Hay, a member of last year’s team and one of four team leaders this year.
Fun Fact: In 2012 the #SFT National Winners won 100K in Samsung technology and a therapeutic classroom assistance dog. Schoharie Central School welcomed Buckles into their school community, who did everything from taking walks with students to being their cheerleader in their studies!

We posted on our blog that our 3rd-6th graders were building electromagnetic speakers... And they did! Well some of them finished but the real point is that the pathway to achieve success was laid out for them. Students experience these results through the TON of work that goes into creating our Challenge Trees! This half motor was created by a 5th grader who went on to finish their speaker a few weeks later. It was a young lady who happened to make the best speaker in the class... #empoweringwomen
