Honestly why are educational institutions putting plagiarism issues at a higher priority than outrage of modesty cases AND THERE ARE CLEAR FACTS TO PROVE THESE THINGS ?? 🖕🏻 If you ever have friends going through such a situation, please help them take that step to report the case to the police. Sometimes all people need is a push. Ultimately if the school doesn’t do shit, don’t hesitate to bring up a case. The reason these things get thrown under the rug is because schools and people value their reputation more than anything.
In case you don’t already know - MLM stands for multi-level marketing. One example of this would be “pyramid selling schemes”, where individuals stand to profit from selling products (that may or may work as advertised) and earn extra commission from the sales of the people that they recruit into the scheme. 👀👀 Organisations with such business structures also usually promise you opportunities of quick and easy cash. These opportunities are usually untrue, and may also be illegal. 🤡😬
Under the MLM Act, it’s illegal for anyone to promote or participate in an MLM scheme or other similar arrangements. Offenders risk a fine of up to $200,000, jail for up to 5 years, or both! 😤😤 In addition, business are also banned from modelling themselves after an MLM, or proposing to promote MLM schemes. 🤧
If someone invites you to take part in what seems like an MLM opportunity, turn them down nicely! If they’re someone you care about, try to convince them to get out of the organisation too. 🤧 After all, earning commission from recruiting people might not be worth it, if what you’re doing is illegal. 😅 #SingaporeLegalAdvice
