It’s okay not to be okay all the time. We are constantly told to be strong, but it’s okay not to be always strong. It’s fine to break down, just do the best you can and remember, there is nothing wrong if you fall, just get back up. You cannot always be strong, sometimes, it’s okay to cry, to even have a melt down. Letting others know how you feel, because it’s not a weakness. The beautiful truth is we are all a little broken, and that’s okay! #everythingisok
The key is not to stay stuck in it for too long. Like the saying “if the wind changes your face will stay like that” ima bid to get our kids to not pull silly faces. Similar to the down and out .. don’t get comfortable there because it’s harder to get out but it’s fine to visit from time to time.
Today I was ok with not be ok. Was up late last night catching up on work missed over the weekend, little miss woke up screaming with temps and holding her ear saying ow!!! This woke Mr 4 up who got worried and upset and it was just one wave of that to the next the whole night and it didn’t get too much better in the day so we cancelled our plans, stayed home in our pjs and cuddled and watched movies and didn’t emerge till almost nightfall. #restday 😔
I felt exhausted all over my body and mind .. cannot wait to fall into bed. I left my inner-image routine to today and was OK with that.
So .. don’t do for the sake of doing, of you need respite and you need to not be OK .. just be OK with that moment where you are and honour it from a once of love, like you would when your kids are not OK. It’s OK to honour these things too.
Honouring and coming from a place of love instead of punishment is new to me and it was hard to sit still and BE but it’s what was needed by my kids and myself deep down to recoup. Fingers crossed tonight’s a bit easier but if not tomorrow is a public holiday so even better right!? #planforthefuture 😆
