Was really looking forward to going to the gym today, but It snowed 3 inches today instead and because the roads here aren’t good with snow, everything is pretty much closed which leaves me to rest all day and enjoy a free day 🤗 wbu guys? How’s the weather over there?
“Mental health is something I take very seriously. When you put the words "mental health" and "social media" in the same sentence, most people tend to think about the negative impact social media plays on someone's mental health. Social media can definitely harm your mental health, I'm victim of this and a lot of my friends are too. It's really easy to go on social media and start scrolling and not even be aware of some of the negative thoughts that enter our mind. Every day I see someone on social media that I either feel is prettier than me, skinnier than me, has better clothes than me, has better connections than me, has more followers than me, etc.. Seeing these things can lead to thoughts that are unhelpful and those thoughts make me feel a way that I don't like to feel. I realized that I'm not the only one who goes through this and I felt that opening up about my own personal struggles with mental health and the fact that I do have to take medication and go to weekly therapy may help normalize this for the people who follow me that see it. My ultimate goal with talking about mental health on my instagram/blog is to work toward ending a stigma that exists, educate people, and simply to just be a real human being with feelings & emotions and let others know it's okay to be just that. We all have mental health, so if it's okay for someone to talk to their friend about how they broke their arm or have the flu, why can't we talk to someone about how we feel really depressed or anxious without people automatically assuming you're looking for attention?” — @lizbeelike by @kishjosepho for #Manifestors ✅
