Picture c. 1830's showing a bugler and the main group of the Light Infantry Company from an unknown regiment in action. The bugle started to become the main source of communication after the drum started to be fazed out in the 1820's and 30's.
Regardless of what people say about avoiding popular tourist attractions, I love visiting them to see how they come to life with all the people that pass through them. I usually like taking shots that are right at the centre of the action, but I particularly like this shot because it captures all of the activity going on at the Giants Causeway from a distant vantage point. Taking this photo from a very high and isolated position really gives you some perspective on not only the beauty of the Giants Causeway’s mountains, but also how tiny humans are in comparison to these huge geological structures.
“I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.”
About 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt rock columns comprise the Giant’s Causeway. A UNESCO World Heritage Site — the Giant’s Causeway was the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. What a beauty seeing the force of nature here in Northern Ireland.
The days are getting shorter and light is fading faster as I aim to get out and walk. The weather is so changeable in #northernireland that the forecast changed at least 3-4 times today-finally ending in a dry walk instead of the predicted rain (tomorrow is 100% chance of rain-we’ll see). Dusk brings out some lovely colours in the sky. That’sone if 2 golf courses in town up on the hill! #afterdinnerwalk#dryatlast

A day late for #WorldPhotographyDay . One of my favourite 📸 primarily because it's a Game of Thrones film location of "The Kingsroad" in stunning Northern Ireland. Although there was no sighting of Robert Baratheon, in my head I kept chanting "The King in the North"🤷🏽♂️
