Everyone who graduated with a communications major at Monash would have to go through this valley of “fail”. 😅
Passing rates for this was 50%. Don’t be deceived by the words on the book. 😂
Nonetheless I’ve learned a lot. Here’s one that caught my attention. • The reverence of authorship ✍🏻 Stories were once public property. During the Age of Reformation started by Martin Luther, the common people have access to the Bible directly and it started a wave of spiritual revival.
If faith is traced to God, then text should be traced to the person who wrote it as humans are created in the image of God, thus making us creators as well. ☺️ Something I still remember after 11 years. 🤣
Well, if you wanted to know my results, I passed. Just on the fence. Phew~ ✌️ Oh, the book called The Lover is quite a read. A bit odd, unusual and explicit. Parts of it is real, parts of it is fiction. And it is kinda like an autobiography of the author Duras herself.
Not too unhappy with my first pouring photo, I have to say! Meal prepped some baked oats again this week (third week in a row, no shame), but used up some apples in the fridge instead of berries because I can thankfully tolerate them. I’ve got two recipes for baked oats (berry 🍓 and chocolate 🍫) on the blog already - get yourself on that!
This study closes today! Last chance to participate.
Participants needed for research study in positive psychology and self-injury. @surveycircle
To be eligible for this study you need to be willing to answer an online questionnaire related to how feel about yourself and the future, how you relate to other people and how you respond to different experiences (NB: this study includes questions about non-suicidal self-injury behaviour, and welcomes both those who do and do not engage in this behaviour equally). The aim of this research is to find out how you cope with stressful events, interact with other people and think about yourself and your future, and how this relates to your psychological well-being.
The study will take no more than 20-30 mins to complete, and can be completed at your own convenience.
Benefits of participation: this study will provide insight into how some of the more positive aspects of life might help people to cope with stressors and think about themselves differently.
NB this research involves an anonymous online survey and does not involve any form of counselling or therapy.
This study is being conducted as a 4th year research project at Monash University, under the supervision of Dr Ruth Tatnell

Hey, it's Nick here with some impressions from days 2&3 in Sri Lanka! We were lucky enough to hear from the Chairman and CEO of The Kingdom of Raigam, Dr Ravi Liyanage, as well as from USJP staff on the Political and Economic Environment of Sri Lanka, followed by our very first industry visit to The Kingdom of Raigam where we were welcomed by traditional dancers and toured the premises, gaining some insights into how their business operates. Day 3 highlights included visiting Dilmah’s head office and tea factories, where we were lucky enough to hear from Dilmah’s CEO, Dilhan C. Fernando. Mr Fernando and the rest of the Dilmah team were extremely welcoming and generous, organising a dinner for us with Dilmah’s Founder, Mr. Merrill J. Fernando and inviting us to visit one of their tea houses near our hotel. We also walked away with some pretty cool gift bags! 📸: @licknee_ w/ @dilmahfamily
