I was returning from the store when I opened my garage door and saw this young Cooper’s hawk sitting on the stock tank “pond.” It sat there for several minutes before flying into the neighbor’s tree. My guess is it’s one of the babies raised across the alley last year. I’ve seen the parents for years now, but this is the first time I’ve spotted one of their possible/likely young returning a year later. (Also: time to install a real pond!) #coopershawk#hawk#raptor#birdwatching#urbanbirding#birds#pond#garden#minneapolis#minnesota#backyardwildlife

🌵Propagation UPDATE!🌵Look at the awesome growth these baby succulents have had in just one month!🙆🏻♀️ (Check out my previous RISE propagation post to see time lapse images from the very beginning and the following 3 months!) As you can see, these succers were getting PRETTTTYY crowded in their container 🙄 so this week I took some time to refresh this setup and replant them with more space to continue their growth. Of course I couldn’t fit all of them back into this original container, so several of them were moved to separate containers & I replanted the biggest ones back into the flat tray with some new soil and more space to keeping growing! Once I had them all replanted, (spacing with a minimum of 1-2” between each) I added a few pumps of succulent fertilizer to the surrounding soil to ensure they are getting all the nutrients they need to keep up their growth!
Most of these succulents still have their 👸mama leaf connected. The majority of the mama leaves are almost fully “dead/dried out” but if the leaf doesn’t come off with a very slight tug, I take that as a sign to leave it attached for a bit longer (and this way I also minimize the risk of damaging the succs by over-handling them and tugging too hard and breaking healthy growth.) 🌱🌷Spring has sprung people! 🌷🌱Thanks to everyone who has been participating in this fun journey and sharing YOUR propagation pictures! Remember to hashtag #ANDnotOR when sharing so we can all share in the fun!
Keep up the good work! Happy spring!! #ad#propagation#propagating#propagatingsucculents#succulents#babysucculents#growlight#plants#gardening#plantsofinstagram#succulove#plantlover#houseplants#springgarden#minneapolis#justbeingcon#succulentsofinstagram
