My training for the Star Wars Half means five runs a week, four of which are at night. So I use my Saturday daylight runs to explore a little, stopping by historical sites like the 300-year-old Griffith Morgan House, now "a community center for celebrating the history of Pennsauken, Camden County, and the region," according to the house's Facebook page. I look forward to visiting again when it's open (and perhaps when I'm not dripping with sweat, right?).

Days like today it would be easy to throw in the towel and say [email protected] it, I can’t make working out a priority. My two oldest were diagnosed with influenza a (and the older one is MUCH worse off) so there have been lots of requests for snuggles, and we are pretty much stuck at home. It took me a LONG time to find a love for running. In fact, I used to dread having to do it on my off days during soccer season. It wasn’t until I was in college that I began to grow a love for it. ⚽️🏃♀️⚽️🏃♀️⚽️🏃♀️
Whether it’s a team sport, lifting weights with a friend, or doing a yoga video at home fitness can come in a forms!!! At the end of the day a life filled with balanced, healthy and happy living is key!!!! 💫💫💫

Week 1, day 1! Whooop lets do this whole marathon thing again shall we!? Jumping in the basement for a picture is a whole new experience than jumping outside for one by the way 😂(refer to story). 4 easy + some strides to kick off the next 18 weeks of marathon training!

The days where it’s just “too cold”, I’m “too sore”, or I’m “too busy.” I know there will be days where the runs don’t go as planned or I don’t feel as strong but as long as I can get myself outside and get moving, I will accept the day as a success. •
Looking at the training plan, it’s a bit daunting to see the weeks ahead and think, “how in the world am I going to do this?” Well I plan to take it one day at a time, put one foot in front of the other, and not allow excuses to hold me back.

Ran to the Seahawks practice field and back. The weather was perfect, my legs felt a little heavy today, and I think a blister is forming on my big toe. I took a couple little breaks, but in all, it was a fun run.

Trying to find the balance between recovery after a race and not wanting to lose too much fitness is always a challenge. I’m still feeling pretty tired, primarily in the evenings, since ALQ50k. So 3 miles plus light strength training today and planning to take it easy for another week or two. Anybody have any specific rules you follow with regard to recovery duration/method after key races?

Taking it back to my roots. 🏒
Before running, hockey was my passion. I don’t get to play as much any more but I still love to lace up the skates again and get out anytime I can. ⛸
With the family day holiday and no marathon training on the schedule, I took it back to the place I won the Stanley Cup so many times as a child playing. Hopefully the scouts took notice out there today, still waiting for my named to be called at the @nhl draft... 🥅
