Running form 🏃♀️🏃♂️👍
Interesting data chart from one of my new clients. 1st run is done before the Running Form Clinic. 2nd one done a few days after. This client reported running easier while running faster. HR is marginally higher but kilometer pace is significantly lower. Achieved after a single session on running form!!! Better running form leads to less injuries, energy conservation and faster times. Very happy for this client and looking forward to seeing much more improvement as he starts my training plan in January! ----------------------------------------------------------------------
A short video of you running is all I need to assess your form and gait. Combined with the use of a sports watch, I can actually be by your side as you complete my training plans. If you are serious about running well, ask yourself this question: "do elite runners have coaches?" I think you will find that it is almost impossible to keep track of all aspects that lead to great results on your own. Contact me for a conversation on how to get your running to the next level!
PM/DM me if interested in a gait analysis of your running style. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👉Follow the link in my bio to my running plans 👈
This morning was one of those runs that made me remember why I love running.

After a tough first week of marathon training this was just the reset I needed. A social run for breakfast bagels with the @adventrunning gang. Because you can’t run hard all the time or you lose you mojo and break your legs.
LONG POST ALERT 🤣 2 years ago, I made the decision to train for the Louisiana Marathon, during the Chicago winter, through the craziness of the holidays, and teaching first grade in December 🤣 I PRed by 17 minutes and was so happy! But, I remember telling my husband on more than one occasion: NEVER let me do this again! And, here I am training for Louisiana again during the toughest time of year 😜 (to be fair, he did try to talk me out of it but I just love this race ⚜️❤️) Most of the time, I just throw on my shoes and go...I don't give myself time to think about it. But, when I was planning this training cycle, I knew these 2 weeks before break would be the hardest: teaching exhaustion, 2 holiday parties, our annual holiday brunch and annual holiday show, cookie exchange, so many little errands made longer by not having a car, and a total lack of will power. I'm trying to give myself a bit of grace. There are only so many hours in the day, even when you wake up at 4 am to get your run in 🤣 (for the sake of honesty: I woke up at 3:45 this morning to get some of my intervals in on the treadmill. I finished one, turned off the treadmill, came back upstairs and fell asleep for 30 more minutes 🤣🤣 I'll try to get a few miles in before our party tonight) I'm trying here, I promise! Have a great Thursday everyone! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ #marathontraining#distancerunner#runnerscommunity#LouisianaMarathon#womensrunningcommunity#chicagorunner#runnersofinstagram#running#training#runtheyear2018#teacherrunner#runnergirl#GeauxRunLa#runninggoals#2018resolutions#4amfail

Hopefully a bit of progress speed wise and the results will begin to show improvement now I've done nearly 4 weeks of base training for Paris marathon.
Took a bit of an effort getting motivated to do the session yesterday tbh. I don't seem to be like most instarunners who are apparently always up for training at all times!
Still, one I got going it did feel good and 12x90s at 18kmh with 60 secs recovery and an easy 10 mins either side for warm up and down.
Hopefully a few more weeks of consistent sessions and building my long runs back up should start showing in my parkrun times again 👍
4 miles of interval training with 0.5 mile at fastest, 0.5 active recovery. .
I’m new to doing interval training and found this hard! I was happy to find somewhere relatively flat for 1/2 mile but the gps on my watch was all over the place so I never started or finished at the same place. 🙄
3rd run of the week and my legs are desperate for a good stretch. I’m so bad at stretching after runs! 🙈
But job done! 👍🏻
Race pix are up from the Rehoboth Half last Saturday, which worked out perfectly because I forgot to take a run pic this morning🤪 5 miles + strides and a quick strength workout this morning💪 Happy Not-Tuesday guys!!!🤗💕🏃♀️

Today is the fourth day in a row that I have ran, which is the longest stretch since Indy. I’m slowly getting these legs back to where they used to be. I even squeezed in 7 miles this afternoon while I soaked in the sun and the 50 degree temps. If they weather could stay like this everyday I’d be so happy. Tonight will be the first and only night this week that I’ll be home and I’m ecstatic about it. I’m hoping to be so productive and hoping to catch up on all of my Bravo tv😂 Have a good night!
Unpopular opinion: running can be medicine but it can’t be your only medicine. For a while I used running to numb my feelings so all I felt was the burn in my lungs and that was how I liked it. That next PR or distance milestone or ab definition was what showed me I was OK. Dozens of miles at a time of physical and mental lidocaine. Now despite life circumstance I run knowing that it’s not going to fix my broken down car or bring my Dad home from the hospital, but it can give me the endorphins I need to get myself a little edge. Not feeling your struggle doesn’t save you from it- it delays fixing it. So don’t stop talking when life gets crappy. Athletes tend to go internal in those hard moments and face them alone but what we need are friends... family... sometimes medicine and therapists and most of the time that’s the bravest thing. A LOT of you have followed along with me as I’ve invited you in on my highs and lows and here I find myself in a valley. I won’t be here long but while I am I promise to feel every bit and resist the temptation to go internal with my struggle. I’m here showing up for it! Just a few miles after work today but ohhhh it felt good to carve out some me time. ❤️
Back to the grind!! This week I’ve started running easy and getting back into strength work. I actually hit a barre class and let me just say... Oh. My. GLUTES. 😳🔥 not going to lie... I was skeptical at first. So many mixed reviews! But if you find an instructor/routine that works well for you, I highly recommend throwing this into your mix!! It was fantastic. It basically touched on all the little prehab exercises I’m supposed to be doing for my ankles, glutes, and hips... and core! Lots of core. How do you mix up your training? 🧘🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️ Isn’t running so much more than running!? 🤷🏻♀️ #workoutwednesday
