Throwing it back to this fun build! I really love the combo of bench cookies and my DeWalt router for quick profiling of boards. #tbt
Rounded out the weekend strong and ready to hit it Monday! I opted for a round over edge profile and partial chamfered top and bottom ends to act as hand grips to slide your fingers under the board. My @rockler_woodworking bench cookies make edge profiling boards an absolute breeze and I'm also super thankful again that they sponsored my giveaway and sent the winner these same bench cookies! For the chamfer, I just clamped a couple of scraps on the sides of the cutting board to be used as start and stop blocks giving me a dimensionally centered and matching chamfer on all 4 edges. As usual, my @dewalttough 2-1/4 HP router screams through these cuts leaving a buttery smooth edge! The @rzmask is a great addition to my shop!

The inspirational furniture piece of the week is, designer Sebastian Errazuriz’s Magistral cabinet. •••
(From his website):
Hardwood Maple, Bamboo, Plywood and Metal hardware
H: 24xW: 23-1/2 X L (open): 62 or L(closed): 40 in (61 x 60 x 157,5 or 101,5cm)
Magistral Cabinet takes the quills from The Porcupine Cabinet to the extreme. Like the protective layer of a chestnut, Magistral Cabinet incorporates an exterior layer of thousands of sharpened wood dowels, placed by hand one at a time until the cabinet is ready to symbolically protect the belongings of its owner. A set of concealed doors slides open to reveal its inner mechanisms and each of its many compartments.
The sculptural cabinet continues the artist’s investigation into the boundaries between functionality and symbolism, walking the fine line between art and design. The obsessive and labor-intensive process required a team of 12 woodworkers, who spent a total of six weeks individually hammering each skewer into the previously carved wooden structure. The long tedious process of installing the spikes is reflected in the cabinet’s strong imposing presence, which invites the viewer to lose his or her sight in the thousands of points.“ •••

Current mock up of a coffee table that has been stuck in my head for the past two weeks is finally taking shape! It feels good to get this thing out of my head! Still a ton of work left but it's coming along nicely
Here are a few of my in-progress earrings. These will be fired once, then some will be glazed, and all fired a second time before posts are added. The gray color will turn black in the process.
I painted several of these with black underglaze, and carved through them to show the orangey brown clay beneath. Stay tuned to see how they evolve!
Ever wonder how something I sell is made? I'd love to address your questions in future posts!
In progress. 🍄 I’m making quite a lot right now, but I haven’t been posting/scrolling here on this feed. It’s good to step away from IG a bit and focus on the creative process of making, to immerse in it. I hope all of you are finding some beauty and magic in this new year. ✨ I’ll be having a shop update within a week or so - embroidered tiny friends coming soon.
