That day we visited Death Valley, a desert, so what a warm journey we had!
We drove a few miles till we reached Mesquite Sand Dunes. That's a place with big dunes that you can walk through and up. Some kids were doing Sandboarding, ones with special metal plates and other with simple cardboards. We walked a bit but its quite warm and dry there... Afterwards we headed to the visitor center but in the way we stopped at a Borax treatment camp that was abandoned years ago. It showed how they worked and the ways to transport it.
From the visitor center we chose to follow the road to Devils Golf Course. The road was awful and we were driving slow in a dusty road. When we got to the point we could see the crystallization in the ground. Nice but hard to reach (and Google points to another place)
Badwater was the next. It's curious to see water in the desert, even if it's salty. We walked 15 minutes and got ourselves in the middle of a salt desert (photo). It was like a small Uyuni (Bolivia travel). The day was closing and we headed to Ryolite. A ghost town outside the park and at Nevada border (at Nevada side). It's very small and had some buildings destroyed but nice to see. Maybe there were more buildings that we could not see but it was getting dark and cold.
Final stop was Las Vegas after a 2 hour drive.
