Gisteren wat regen en wat zon en een hele mooie wandeling rond Muckross Lake

Two out of our four nights on our road trip were spent in the sweet town of Killarney. We spent the majority of Tuesday in Killarney National Park. We spent the first part of the day going through the Muckross Traditional Farms. Then we took a Jarvey ride (🐎 & buggy) and a boat ride. Our Jarvey driver was so sweet! He let the littles sit in front with him and steer the horse. They loved that!
After naps, we went to have dinner in town and stopped in a pub for some Irish music. All in all a great day!!
The gardens and grounds of the @muckrosshouse in #killarneynationalpark are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Queen Victoria visited here for two nights in the mid 1800s. She announced her visit six years in advance, giving the owners time to redo the bedrooms, dining room and entertaining rooms (they commissioned special curtains from France, an ornate carved sideboard from Germany with the family crest (the Welsh dragon) and fanciful customized wall paper for the games and gun rooms. As always, she insisted on sleeping on the first floor (fear of fire), and so the owners had a fire escape installed next to her dressing/living quarters. You can see the light blue fire escape in the first picture. The family hoped that their efforts would yield the granting of a title by the Queen. Alas, it did not, as her husband died soon after the visit and her attention was diverted. There were some lovely California-like trees on the grounds that were stunning (seen in the last picture). Well worth the 10 euro entry fee to take the house tour and kids are free! #irishgarden
5 years ago I have celebrated my birthday on top of Mangerton Mountain in #Ireland . Although Ireland's mountains aren't too challenging I was really out of breath, because I was #pregnant with Lotta back then. On the top of the mountain I met another pregnant woman - why not in this very crowded part of Ireland? 😉
🤩Travel story with EasyRentCars ⚔️From Star Wars to Game of Thrones, Magnum visited the hottest Irish film locations during her 2-weeks Irish road trip. One of her favorite locations is Skellig Michael, which featured in a now-iconic scene at the end of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Its unusual shape suits our favourite galaxy far away .
⛵️The island is relatively difficult to reach due to the local climate and a limited number of operators being permitted to run tours. Some people even call it the most difficult accessible UNESCO World Heritage, but Skellig Michael definitely worth a day trip.
