So, Kerry has made the top three destinations WORLDWIDE with Big Event Travel, citing the "mountains, lakes and coasts" as "picture perfect" and according to the author, and we completely agree - "that’s before you add in Killarney National Park"! Haven't been... contact us today!
Welcome to the Killarney Royal’s staff appreciation day. Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to Kelly Stewart, who works as a receptionist here at Killarney Royal and giving you an insight into her life.
Kelly joined the Killarney Royal team on 4th December 2018. She is from Los Angeles but has Irish citizenship as her grandmother was from Co. Carlow. Kelly spent 10 years travelling the globe, visiting Africa, Asia and Australia, stating that every 6 months, she would get the itch to travel.
In 2016 Kelly travelled to Ireland and felt instantly at home when she came to the West Coast. She returned for another visit in June 2017 - this time she rented a car and based herself in Killarney. She felt so comfortable here, and the people made her feel so welcome, that she decided to make the move to Killarney.
Outside of work she likes to play guitar and sing, she also has a passion for photography. She is interested in medicine and would like to study pharmacy in the future.
Kelly says that she loves helping people and that is the best part of her job, she wants our guests to have the best experience. She says the Killarney Royal team are like family ‘every department works together, everyone pitches in, I haven’t experienced the same feeling in any other hotel I have worked in, it is a team effort. The Royal is a treasure in Killarney.’ Thank you Kelly for all of your hard work! #teamappreciation#dreamteam#killarney
Most people come to the gym to look better, feel better or just to generally get a bit fitter. Weight loss is great to have for a goal especially if you have a specific number in your head. But don’t let it be the only determinant of your progress.
Just by addressing your training and nutrition you can hugely improve the quality of your life. Going from having no energy or motivation for anything, to having energy all day, being more productive and spending more quality time with your family. It becomes easier to get out of bed in the morning, your sleep gets a lot better and your general mood just becomes better. .
All these things sound great and are easy to do. No exclusion of food groups or crazy calorie deficits, just takes being a bit more active and making better food choices.
I'm so proud of Orlaith and the journey she has been on recently. Facing up to breast cancer (or any cancer) isn't easy and you find strength from within that you didn't even know was there!
We first met when she reached out to me after her surgery and have since become great support to each other.
It was an honour to take her portrait and I know she found great healing in it and realises how special she is. So many ladies have been in touch to say they are going to book in when they loose weight and they don't feel good about themselves at the moment and will be back in a few months.
Ladies, there is never a perfect time and we spend most of our lives waiting for the right moment and the right moment is now!
Trust me, there isn't a body shape I haven't seen and photographed and they were all beautiful.

There are roads to where we’re going
Endless highways and dusty tracks
And every road that we have traveled
It’s the road that always brings us back
And takes us to familiar places
And takes us back to share again
Golden days and friendly faces
May we all someday meet again ✨

Thank you for all the comments and likes! We love hearing from you. Day 8- Skellig Michael Islands which was an amazing experience and we were blessed to have such great weather. The landing tour is a limited tour and it all depends on the sea conditions. A little history of the island is that a monastic settlement was built on it that dates back to the sixth century. The climb to the settlement takes about 20-30 minutes both ways and there are many resting places along the way.
Day 9 We started the day with a tour of the Muckross House in Killarney. The Muckross House was built in 1843 for the Herbert family. This house was beautiful and grand but the furnishing inside it were even more spectacular. Queen Elizabeth ll visited the Herbert's given them a 6 year notice which they spent that time buying magnetic furniture and making their house presentable for the Queen. After the Muckross House we drove out of Killarney making our way to Bunratty Castle. We took a tour of the castle and the village within the castle learning about the different villagers and seeing how their homes would have looked in the 15th century. Of course we had to stop right next door to Durty Nelly's pub, which was once the pub for the castle guards.
As we hop back into the car to continue our way to Galway we realize that the Cliffs of Moher is south of where we are and either need to turn around or make the trek to see them tomorrow. We decide while we are closer now than tomorrow to go see them. And are we sure glad we did! It was a beautiful night with not a lot of people around. The views from the cliffs were spectacular.
Day 10 We stayed in a lovely B&B by the Cliffs of Moher. We had a wonderful home cooked Irish breakfast continuing lots of protein to give us lots of energy for our long trek north to Fivemiletown and Belfast. The drive is about 4 hours without stopping. We are heading to Fivemiletown because this is where Sarah's great-grandfather is from. It is a town of about 1,200 people. Lovely farming community with not a lot of tourists around. We stopped by the Presentation church St. John's to see the church that my family went to. We met the grounds k
