One example of climate change is now one of Iceland’s top tourist attractions. The glacier lagoon only appeared when Iceland’s biggest glacier started retreating due to global warming.
The lagoon is now filled with huge blocks of Ice that break off from the glacier and they continue melting in the lagoon. The blocks off Ice then end up in the ocean as they continue melting and finally get dropped off on Diamond Beach a little further.
Within 200 years all of this will be gone. There will no longer be any glaciers in Iceland, no diamond beach and no blue Ice caves. Iceland will no longer be the country of fire and ice, but only the country fire. Volcanoes will be eager to erupt without the pressure from the ice pushing down. We need to fight climate change so we can preserve our planet’s beauty!
