Jerusalem. What a strange, special place. You made me laugh and you made me cry, you made me silent and made me sing, you gave me warmth but also coolness. You made me thinking. A city full of history, religion and conflict. One can only understand when he has been there... 🕊🇮🇱
This sweet little angel was following me around on my walk around Galilee this evening, and when I got down to her level, she started to kneed my sweater and suck, obviously looking for milk. This just broke my heart. I was unable to supply her with milk, but I had something in my fridge that may have been nourishing, to fill her tummy, at least for tonight. She is clearly a baby, and was quick to run over and want attention. She is also very thin, which was saddening. It breaks my heart to see how many cats are here, and even though they may be native to the region, it does not make it any easier that they are homeless and just want someone to love them. I went back to my hotel room, found a yogurt, and gave it to this loving cat. The cat bolted to the cup faster than I could blink, as she was clearly hungry. This is an important reminder that compassion goes a long way, and that every being on this Earth needs love. ♥️. She also taught me a lesson about nourishment and strength. 💪🏻. She has eaten about half the cup so far, and I have also put fresh, clean water outside, too. I will be praying for her, and every other creature in this land. Tonight, my heart is heavy. 🇮🇱. #traveljournal#israel#becompassionate#loveeveryone#catsofinstagram#catstagram

Secularism must be the most misunderstood and mangled ism in the American political lexicon. Commentators on the right and the left routinely equate it with Stalinism, Nazism and Socialism, among other dreaded isms.
In the United States, of late, another false equation has emerged. That would be the groundless association of secularism with atheism. The religious right has profitably promulgated this misconception at least since the 1970s.
Claiming that secularism and atheism are the same thing makes for good culture warrioring.
Nowadays most major atheist groups describe themselves as “secular.” Many are in fact good secularists. But others, as we shall see, are beholden to assumptions that are strikingly at odds with the secular worldview.
Let’s start with some brief definitions. Atheism, put simply, is a term that covers a wide variety of schools of thought that ponder and/or posit the non-existence of God/s. Among scholars there is a fascinating debate about when precisely atheism arose. One compelling theory (see writers like Alan Kors and Michael Buckley) is that nonbelief as a coherent worldview developed within Christian theological speculation in early modernity.
Secularism, on the other hand, has nothing to do with metaphysics. It does not ask whether there is a divine realm. It is agnostic, if you will, on the question of God’s existence — a question that is way above its pay grade.
What secularism does concern itself with are relations between Church and State. It is a flexible doctrine that can embody a lot of policy positions. Strict separationism is one, but not the only, of those positions. At its core, secularism is deeply suspicious of any entanglement between government and religion.

Never a lifeguard on duty here.
Such a cool feeling being in the Dead Sea! Just lean back and let the salt do the rest. A natural spa, the water leaves behind an oily coat on your skin. Once you get out and wash it off, your skin feels amazing. Plus the bottom consists of huge salt crystals!! Ps: don’t get the water in your mouth and prepare for any cuts to burn.
Sorry for the absence the last couple of weeks (especially on stories 🙈). We’re ok! Just needed to disconnect for a little bit and spend some quality time together without too much staring at screens.
We sat on our bed yesterday for a while just talking about life and the universe and the meaning of everything. No laptops, no tv, no phones, just us for an hour. It felt so nice and also so rare that we had to promise each other we’ll always find the time to do this. Why don’t we do it more often? #stayclosetravelfar
Transformation- 5 years ago. Always had a dream as a fat boy to be able to take my shirt off without getting embarrassed.
When you’re mind is healthy you’re body is healthy. Dreams can become reality.
Have a great week everyone!
Keep dreaming 🥳🥳🥳 Thanks for @danielalevit and @or_ohana__ for finding one pic of mine without a shirt when i was fat 😅
