What if I told you that drinking alcohol on occasion isn’t going to be completely detrimental to your progress? .
Sure, alcohol is not the most optimal way to improve your health and reach your fitness goals. Actually, it doesn’t have many physical benefits at all. .
It might help you let loose and act ridiculous, sure, that’s always fun. I personally love drinking.

In a perfect world, we would never indulge, we would stick to our clean eating, and not drink, like, ever.
But this is not a perfect world, and it’s a whole lot better that way. .
You need to be honest with yourself. The fact is, you are probably going to want to drink at a friends birthday party or on a night out. You are probably going to want to indulge in yummy foods and live life the way you want to live it. You probably are going to want to drop that new restrictive diet you started because you just love food so much.
I get it. I’ve been there.

YOUR BODY || Weight loss is often the primary reason an individual will book an appointment to see me. As with all my clients, I ask them a delve a little deeper and ask why? The most common response is ‘to feel better about myself’. After this I often ask ‘have you weighed less before?’ and most reply with yes. And then I ask ‘and did this make you feel better about yourself? Did you love and accept your body? Did you go and do the things you think your body is supposedly holding you back from doing now?’. And the answer is no.
Let me tell you from personal experience. I have weighed significantly less before and I have weighed more. And I hated my body at both ends of the spectrum. It is only through learning to accept all the other parts of myself, valuing who I am as a person and letting go of this notion of being thin to be valuable, liked and loved that I have been able to grow and move on.
We often focus on our weight when we are unhappy or unable to control something within ourselves or our lives. I am not opposed to people taking better care of themselves and losing weight in the process. But we are more than our bodies and we all have much more to offer.

Seriously. I’ve felt this way tooooooo many times the past few years since I’ve worked out. I’ve limited myself from eating all my favorite foods or home cooked meals because I was so worried about:
•not getting enough workout/physical activity
•being off track
•not being able to fit clothes
You can name the rest for yourself, but in all seriousness.. STOP worrying and just enjoy everything Christmas has got to offer. Once you put those negative thoughts into mind that’s when it starts to manifest. You won’t get overweights because you can lose that easily when you get back on track. It’s okay to miss days of working out, because the gym will always be there. Go as much you can, but don’t beat yourself over it if you can’t make it. Enjoy all the food and home cooked meals because that’s probably your only chance you’ll have it if you’re away from home throughout the year. Don’t stress, sis.
what a perfect month to do this challenge !!! most of us think of Dec is a month to treat ourselves not to punish ourselves. But the reality is .... giving yourself a challenge for 30 days during this time of year is in fact treating yourself. Setting new goals , and entering the new year feeling center, balance and refresh. Detoxing the mind the body and making space to welcome new possibilites into your life Treating your body , central nervous system , and detoxing in many ways . It is not going to be easy !! planted *holiday* prep!🌲
I can't believe it! It's my last meal prep for 2018 and the holidays are right around the corner...! I made sure to squeeze in a few of my holiday favourites for this last meal prep and also prepped a lot of freezer friendly goodies so my fridge + freezer are stocked over my break! 🤗 All the tasty dets below! 👇🏻
🍊breakfast: My current obsession with persimmons continues to grow day by day! I've been eating them like crazy. I created the ultimate holiday chia parfait that
includes persimmons, pomegranates + @sodelicious_ca 'Holiday Nog'! I used it as the base for my chia puddings along with some sweet spices, @enjoyyoso coconut yogurt + the tastiest holiday breakfast treat was born! One of my favourite muffin combos is orange-cranberry and it was finally time to create a dairy + gluten free version just in time for the holidays! I tested this new mix and they we're the perfect amount of orangey-cranberry goodness, moist and fluffy! I'll be eating these as my second breakfast and for a snack during the week! If they hold up well over the next few days I'll be sure to post the recipe when I make the second batch!
🥬lunch: Squeezing in some extra veggies and salads this week before the holiday break begins! I made my ultimate go-to salad combo that includes roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, purple cabbage, butter beans, peppers, celery + spinach! I usually sprinkle them with some pepita seeds and dress with my homemade roasted garlic-maple mustard dressing👌 It's a short week for me so I only need to make 3!
🥕dinner: As always, I made my all-time favourite dish to get into the holiday spirit! @ohsheglows Ultimate Walnut Lentil-Loaf it's packed with SO much flavour and it's super hearty too! I'll be enjoying it with a garlic sweet potato-carrot mash and steamed broccoli. I'm a little sick of pizza these days but wanted to make something similar to a 'pie'. As soon as I spotted @kalemaryblog gluten-free 'Savoury Brussels Sprout and Butternut Galette' I had to try it! It includes two of my favourite veggies! Find the rest in the comments below! 👇🏻

I haven’t posted in a little while because I have been really sick, but also because I feel like I have lost my motivation. I have lost myself a little.
I started this Instagram to help share my journey towards health.
Many of you follow me because of that weight loss story and I always want to be open and vulnerable here.
So I wrote a post about my current health and what I plan on doing to turn things around.
I believe that I will reach my goals, I believe that I will find healing and I believe that you can too if you are struggling.
I also believe that weight loss and self love can co-exist, it’s okay for weight loss to be a part of your health journey despite the current stigma against it. You have to do what is best for you. Self love is not binging, hiding food, self harm etc.
I will be documenting my journey in hopes to help you too. Thank you for loving me as I am ❤️

2015- 120lbs. ➡️ TODAY- 140lbs. Ohhh competing days... I worked hard for my shows but the majority of the “hard” was in the extremely restrictive dieting, hours of cardio everyday, and trying to not let it affect my sanity or personal relationships. It taught me my discipline for sure.
I have respect for those that compete but the level of health and happiness I now have cannot be compared and is not worth sacrificing for plastic trophies 🏆 My ultimate goal is to be healthy & balanced on every aspect and unfortunately competing does not support my goals 🙅🏻♀️❌ Hence why I don’t compete anymore.
I’m 15-20 lbs. heavier on the right today! I feel better physically/mentally/emotionally… all of it 😍 The type of “hard” I experience now is a healthy addiction 😈without any extreme dietary restrictions or over training. Just good old fashioned hard work, eating well, eating enough, lifting heavy, pushing myself and focusing more on athleticism vs aesthetics.
The fact that I’m able to only focus on my fitness/performance while still being relatively lean has given me complete freedom from obsessing over how I look or criticizing every single inch of my body 🙌🏻.
Mental health is EVERYTHING❕Who agrees?!
