No one else was less deserving of Friday. But in a transcendent, eternal sense there was no one else in the history of the universe qualified for Friday.⠀

Why do we celebrate #Christmas?
Since Adam and Eve, everyone who has walked this earth has been born. Think about all the billions of people born in this world. Everyone was born the same way -- they all came out of a mother's womb, whether by natural birth or another method. The point is that everyone was born.
So, what makes the birth of #Jesus so different?
Obviously, there's the story of Christmas, from the Annunciation to the Presentation, and even Mary and Joseph fleeing for Egypt. It's a unique story, and a radical one, too. But that's what it is, a story.
It's not about #SantaClaus, as much as people might want it to be. The presents under the tree are great, but even the most expensive gifts ate nothing compared to what God has gifted each one of us -- His only son #Jesus, who is the one source of eternal salvation.
What will you do with that gift? Hide from it? Run away? Act like it doesn't exist? Think about it? Tell others about it? Or will you allow God to change your life this Christmas with it?
What makes the birth of #Jesus so different is what He did with his life, from the miracles he worked to how he taught with words and actions. He changes countless lives even today.
Most importantly, we recognize what this infant would grow up to be hung on a cross and die for our sins before He is raised from the dead.
Without the pain of #GoodFriday and the joy of #EasterSunday, Christmas is no more than some teacher's birthday. But because of what #Christ did for us, Christmas is worth all of its celebrating -- if and only if we keep it in that perspective. What will you do to remember this as you continue to prepare for Christmas?
