Cascais, a beautiful city just right outside of Lisbon is one of my favorite cities. Ocean-side, lively, great seafood food & amazing expresso. There’s not a week I begged my husband to go back to live in Portugal again. 💖 It’s crazy to think that his military career is coming to an end in a (kinda) soon. I don’t know what path we’ll take after that but I know traveling will always always be a part of it. Just like always.🌍 what are some of your favorite destinations?
There’s nothing like a cold early morning start on top of the mountain with some fresh cord 😍❄️..
One of the best perks of working on the mountain is starting and finishing work in the dark, which means we get to see views that no one else gets too, apart from the groomers, they have a pretty sweet gig but I’m forever grateful for being a part of @sunpeaksresort and being able to share my part is just one of the many ways of saying Thankyou 💙

December in Edmonton
In these photos:
The Legislature, Candy Cane Lane, Muttart Conservatory, Hogwarts inspired gingerbread house from the Duchess and West Edmonton Mall. 🎄🎅🎁
This was 6 years ago in Alsace, where we visited many of the medieval towns except #Strasbourg because it was the furthest one away. There was always next year to visit.
Alsace is one of the loveliest regions I’ve ever been to, and the Christmas markets in the towns there are some of the most amazing I’ve ever been to in my life. I don’t think there’s anything we can really do to stop senseless killings like that because if there was, we’d have done it already.
Xav and I were actually talking about going there this year (among other places like Chamonix), even checking out Airbnb prices 2 nights ago. We’ll have to see how things develop I guess.
Still, what a sad day.
Memories are what make adventures real. They are what we have left when the fun and excitement is over. They are the remnents of us in a world we once explored.🌬️
Take some time out to focus on these "moments in time" which become your memories. Breathe them in, smell them feel them and don't ever let them go... Oh and don't forget to capture them 📸
The weather changed pretty quick while we were doing this hike, but not even that could take away from this crazy view. We felt, quite literally, on top of the world ⛰ ⛰ #greatwallofchina#wildgreatwall

Adventure kisses are the best kisses 💕💕
Today marks our first full month on this crazy adventure, and I’ve been doing my best to take stock today of everything that’s happened so far. I’m down a tripod (My clumsiness on this Great Wall hike resulted in its demise), up a few pounds (who can really blame me, the food here is so cheap and so delicious) and full of so many memories and experiences that my brain is still processing it all. Check out my stories for an actual recap, meanwhile, we’re off for a beer 🍻🍻Happy weekend folks ✌️✌️

Bucketlist, lifelist, forever goal, dream achievement—whatever you want to call it—that is what this was. —————————————————————
Of course me being me, seeing the restored wall wasn’t enough, so I followed the directions of a random website (last updated 2015 😳) on how to get to some little mountain village which had a footpath that led up to the wild Great Wall. We found the village, the “main road” that ended in the footpath (there were three main looking roads, luckily we picked the right one 😅😅) hiked the foot path and climbed up, quite literally, through a hole in the wall. The 10ish km from our access point to the touristy Mutianyu section saw the wall transform from overgrown, untouched and crumbling with heart stopping views to new, safe and beautified—with equally heart stopping views (just with more people). It was, for me, the experience of a lifetime, and will probably go down in history as one of my most most favourite hikes of all time.
—————————————————————— What’s been your most fave hike?? .

Views of the Bronze Temple from Longevity Hill. —
When I sent this pic over to my famjam, they said it looks like something out of a fairytale, and I happen to agree. 😍😍
I know I’ve been posting a lot from the same location, making this pic about 3 weeks old now, but for me, instagram has always been about keeping a chronological account of my adventures for myself, and in the process, if it happens to inspire someone else to visit a certain location, then that’s amazing. I’m not a photographer, sponsored traveller (altho hell that would be cool) or travel blogger (altho tbh I’ve been back and forth with it, even going so far as coding a website. Current status: not entirely into it). I travel because I want to see everything there is to see, and I document it so I can prove to my future kids (and grandkids) that there was a time I was pretty cool 😂😂😂. Thank you to everyone on here who follows my journeys and constantly sends love and support. Even tho I’m slow to engage at times, and am quite frequently offline, I truly value our connections. Happy weekend everyone ❤️❤️

So posting selfies isn’t usually my thing, but I have to say that after a solid 2 weeks on this crazy adventure, there’s no one I’d rather be here with. Even this short period of time hasn’t been without its ups and downs, arguments and stress-induced fights, it’s doubts, and questions of our ability/willingness to move forward. No matter how much love and communication there is, spending 24/7 with someone is challenging, especially so when you’re someone who strongly values your personal space and alone time.
—— This time has also, however, been dominated by beautiful moments, quiet confirmations of love and care, and truly incomparable adventures. We’ve met and connected with people who have been doing this for a weekend and those that have been on the go for 2 years; we’ve already had experiences that have exceeded anything we could have possibly hoped for in our wildest dreams. And at the end of the day, no matter what, I am most grateful that I have you to hold my hand through all the craziness. Thank you @straightoutofcollingwood for jumping on the Darina train and never looking back. I am so glad we have the same goals and priorities and I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes us. .

Alright alright last one of the Forbidden City I swear. I know it’s kind of an insta faux pas to overshare 1 place but I don’t care because I really can’t help it. Pictures don’t even do it justice. We spent a good 3-4 hours wandering around the complex, and to be perfectly honest I could have spent more. #forbiddencity#instabeijing .

I forgot how much I loved weeping willows until I got here and saw them absolutely everywhere, simply yet beautifully framing the streets, buildings, and in this case, this sweet little smooch 🙈🙈
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We are leaving Xi’an for the desert today, so if anyone has any tips on how to keep amused on a train for 20 hours, lemme know 😒😒
