Yesterday was an extremely special day...
Many many feelings of gratitude. Thank you to semesteratsea & sanjorgeschool for the opportunity to enrich the education of the future generations. Through the Vicarious Voyage Program, I collaborated with San Jorge, the first school I attended at a young age, to share my travel experiences through emails and photos. We were able to provide an opportunity for students, from various high school grades, to enlarge their perspectives of the world by helping them discover new cultures. Yesterday I came back to San Jorge & realized the immense impact of my email exchanges. The students questioned away, from wanting to know more about South African dance traditions, to pondering about Chinese air pollution. They reminded me of the little moments, the small clips of instagram stories shared, and made every single second of this journey worth it. I reminded them of their capability to DREAM, empowering them with the imagination and possibility to study abroad and experience what the world has to offer. Most importantly, today I realized that TRAVELING WITHOUT SHARING one’s experience is useless. Truthfully, sharing pictures and videos through social media for me isn’t about showing off or having the need to feel validated. Social media can be a way to teach others about the world, about things others have never seen before. In that way, you open horizons, create interests and help spark a fire of curiosity that may generate initiative for something greater. #VicariousVoyageProgram#SanJorgeSchool#SemesteratSea#SASFA18#socialmedia#Instagram#Photos#Videos#GlobalCitizenship#Travel#TraveltheWorld#Empowerment#Education#SASneverENDS

Society is becoming more aware of what is lacking in traditional educational models as many youth graduate high school unprepared for college, autonomy and the skills required for successful careers in the quickly-evolving 21st Century. It is not the fault of our youth that they were born into the society we created for them, so let’s do what we can to make it right. Traditional educational models will take some time to react and adjust to new research showing that our systems are failing our youth, but SIGA has a solution.
But let’s be realistic - the best things in life take commitment, effort, faith and the risk of leaving your comfort zone. Going to boarding school can be scary for students and their parents. Being away from home, meeting new people, and feeling you might miss out on what “normal” high schoolers do, day in and day out - it all sounds a little scary… at first.
Then you think a bit more about it: Do you really want to do what “everyone else” is doing? Or do you want to feel empowered as an agent in your own education and life? Do you want to feel more confident, resilient, aware, connected, well-travelled, and ready to make things happen for your future?
Open up to the rewards that come from taking a different path. You have the power to do things differently - in a way that will set you apart from “normal” and will let you be your best you. Don’t let fear defeat you.
Make going to SIGA boarding school the best risk you ever took, the best decision you ever made, and the most fulfilling high school experience you ever imagined.

January - April! Let us do this!
My Running Thoughts of the Day Today : 1.Pride &Trust : Running for a brand like Tata evokes immense pride driven by a brand which is associated with trust since time immemorial. 2.Humanity : I don't think there is any better example of it than today with kids aged 5 to elderly couples all on the road serving water biscuits, chocolate, oranges and cheering the runners. 3.Compassion: I had my first cramp when I reached 15kms and my fellow unknown runner just said one thing "keep going " and as if he was the expert, I followed his instructions. What better example of seeing victory in other’s success. 4.Faith : When i started training I had a benchmark of 2 hours but later I revised it to 2.30 hours owing to my travel schedule and since I couldn't train. However while running I knew I can do better and did it... Be your own Benchmark and beat yourself again. And one more time! Cheers to TMM2019 #marketing#business#motivation#inspiration#startups#proud#millennials#mindfulness#globalization#globalcitizenship#pritamonsker#style

#openspacetechnology is a #participative method for facilitating meetings. Based on the idea that the best conversations happen over coffee break, #openspace abandons hierarchy and formal structure, allowing #teaching and #learning to happen naturally in a relaxed environment.
Questions are put forward by participants and space is allocated for each of these to be answered concurrently. The session is guided by four principles - when it starts is the right time, whoever attends are the right people, whatever happens is exactly what was supposed to and it is over when it is meant to be. The 'Law of Two Feet' underpins the meeting; those attending are free to travel between questions as they please.
In our December workshop, #creativityandchange participants challenged one and other with questions around #developmenteducation, #globalcitizenship, #transformativelearning, #pedagogy and dealing with difficult professional relationships. Interesting, insightful and #creative responses were fed back to the entire group when the session ended - which happened at the right time!

#MACivics Today in Civics our S6 took charge and taught our S1’s! Focusing on poor children in India, the ‘Paper Bag Game’ challenged pupils to find out if they could survive on the streets of Kolkata. Using real cost-of-living prices and wages, pupils got an idea of how they would manage if they had to survive making and selling paper bags. Pupils learnt that a quarter of the world’s population live in severe poverty. Many work long hours in poor conditions just to earn enough to stay alive, often surviving on less than £1.30 per day.
Thank you to Robert for an excellent demonstration of how to make a paper bag! #BluePeterMoment#learningforlife#collaboration#mentoring#rightsrespectingschool#globalcitizenship#developmentgoals
Being able to share stories with volunteers from all over the world is a gift and part of what makes our cleanups so much fun. This past weekend we were joined by @semesteratsea students who ended their months long ocean journey by cleaning up one of the dirtiest beaches on O’ahu. As we celebrate the holiday season, we’re grateful for ohana. Our volunteers, friends, family that keeps on growing- across seas, generations, and seeing how it all connects through our everyday actions and learning from each other. Let the legendary times continue in the new year! We can’t wait for you to join us! Support from the @subaruhi share the love campaign helps us pull off work like this. 🤙🏾 #cleanyobeach#semesteratsea#sharethelove808#plasticpollution#bringyourfriends#andyocousintoo#globalcitizenship
#2017YearEndTestimony 🌖😄 The greatest lesson I have learned this year is that no matter the hardships you may be facing there is always A BETTER LIFE on the other side...
During a convo with a friend on Christmas I relayed that I felt 2017 had been an “off year” for me. My friend quickly shot back, “Noooo! This has been a BIG year for you and I’m proud of all you’ve accomplished.” Upon receiving those encouraging words, I instantly knew that our exchange would serve as inspiration for my year end testimony. Sincerely speaking, 2017 holistically challenged me more than any year in recent memory largely because I was (regrettably) harder on myself than ever before. Amidst highs that included returning to the U.S. after a successful 4-year journey in Kenya, being honored with an Excellence in Philanthropy Award at my 10 Year @Howard1867 Reunion, and celebrating my 32nd Birthday with a move to L.A., I struggled with self-doubt and was riddled with fear. 〰
With my father recovering from the effects of a stroke he suffered toward the end of 2016, the uncertainty that crept in moving back into my Parents’ house this summer, and the strongest feeling of disconnection I’ve ever felt to my life’s work ( #JabariInspires) – my outlook was often bleak. 〰
Now, looking back on this year, I can wholeheartedly say that I have conquered much of the self-doubt that ravaged my energy in the first half of ’17. 🙏🏾 How?! Well, I have been re-fueling with GRATITUDE, choosing to re-commit myself to acknowledging that every step of this journey is a blessing. Even with my most recent role with Snapchat coming to a sooner than expected end, due to an abrupt change in strategy for the company, I am THANKFUL! 🙌🏾 Early last week I prayed and asked GOD to remove anything from my path that was not aligned with my purpose in 2018. As fate would have it, a few days later my team was informed today would be our last day.
I share all this to encourage anyone reading to know that EVERYONE faces challenges, we ALL have days in which life’s pressures seem insurmountable. However, if we keep pushing ourselves and SMILING, then the BEST will be yet to come...2018 is going to be so LIT!!! 💥💥

All around the world young people are heavily excluded from the job market. Currently, there are more than 75 million unemployed and millions more who are unemployable because they lack the skills necessary. With the advance of technology, new trends are suggesting automation and technological advancement will outsmart and outwork us. Closing the skills gap is going to require Global compliance from a diverse set of industries with a need for shared leadership with young people. #LinkedlnVideo#JamiraSpeaks
I'm holding out
For the day
When all the clouds
Have blown away
I'm with you now
Can speak your name
Now we can hear
