Lake Muskry was formerly known as Lough Béal Sead (Lake of the Jewel Mouth). Legend tells that the lake was once home of beautiful maidens who every second year were metamorphosised into birds, one becoming the most beautiful in the world. To mark her pre-eminence she was allowed to wear a golden necklace which had a sparkling jewel in it.
The number one reason we went to Ireland was to spread the ashes of my late grandmother Patricia DeSantis. Irish to her core and full of love that will radiate for generations to come. She had went back to Ireland countless of times during her life and her favorite pub was Nellie’s in Tipperary County and her favorite view was the Glen of Aherlow. I’m so thankful to have spent 26 years getting to know her and learn from her experience, I never got to go to Ireland with her while she was alive, but I was able to go with her spiritually with my family.
I haven’t been on a family vacation since I was 13 and I’m forever thankful for her life that brought us back together for this wonderful experience. Rest In Peace Grandma, May you forever enjoy the view at the Glen of Aherlow. #grandmaslove#ireland#glenofaherlow#nelliespub#countytipperary#eurotrip2019#fujifilmxt20#fujifilm
Heartbroken all over again to leave our beloved schoolhouse in Tipperary for the final final time. Ah the memories we’ve made over the past 23 crazy years. Some days there’ll be a book about it full of our funny, sad, romantic, random, whacky, wonderful, whimsical escapades but right now it’s just 💔 #loveireland#tipperary#overandout#glenofaherlow
