So, Kerry has made the top three destinations WORLDWIDE with Big Event Travel, citing the "mountains, lakes and coasts" as "picture perfect" and according to the author, and we completely agree - "that’s before you add in Killarney National Park"! Haven't been... contact us today!
Started along the Gap of Dunloe yesterday but turned back to continue along the Ring of Kerry before the tour busses invaded. Looking forward to exploring further on Friday - maybe by horse & buggy? .
Impossible not to feel the love and fun between these two💘 It’s a gorgeous wee thing to be allowed in to photograph people’s lives and relationships and extra special when those people are your family.
Also, how frickin lucky are we to live on this beautiful island and never be too far from a real life picture postcard😍 If you haven’t visited Ireland you definitely need to✈️
A real head turner 📸 .
Massive shout out to @volkswagenireland for giving me the opportunity to look after this beautiful jeep for a few days. Have you entered this years VWSnapshot Competition? If not have a look at how easy it is to enter. Link in my bio. .
So a planned sunrise at Clontarf fell apart when the forecast was poor so instead myself and @renataguima packed up the Touareg and decided to head off to Kerry on a last minute day trip to see the Gap of Dunloe as we had never been there before. When we got there we were told we couldn't drive up to the Gap as the roads were too narrow. However, after a few mins of negotiation with the locals who police the road, we made our away up the small winding passage past hoards of hikers, horse & carts and locals who make the journey through the winding roads every day.
Photography is actually such an escape for me and I'm pretty sure for most of us. It makes you think outside of the box. It's gives you so many amazing opportunities to connect with people. It makes you travel to places you've never been, to meet people you've never met and make memories you would never have made if you were not chasing that creative spark that began as a thought in your mind. It makes you appreciate time and the importance of exploration. Don't waste a second of it. Even if you had all the money in the world, you can't buy time ⏳
Leading the way. 🐑 ➖
The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass forged between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Purple Mountain by glacial flows. The river running through the gap is the river Loe from where the Gap gets it's name. The Gap begins at Kate Kearney's Cottage. The road, narrow in many places, winds through the pass and descends into The Black Valley passing five lakes, Coosaun Lough, Black Lake, Cushnavally Lake, Auger Lake and Black Lough. Within easy walking distance from Kate Kearney's cottage is a picturesque old bridge known as the 'Wishing Bridge'. It is said that wishes made here really do come true!
