🤝Being able to converse with people that I otherwise, would probably never have conversations with is one main reason that I love what I do. For thirty minutes, sometimes an hour — our talks range from politics, to religion to just life in general. Sure a number of my clients and I have opposing views on the topics that were mentioned above, but the conversation is tactful and respectful.. most times offering insight as to why a person feels the way they feel. This is basically what a hairstylist/barber means when they say they love their clients✊🏽

You are an artist and your life is the masterpiece. 👩🎨 - Your world is the canvas. 🌎 - Your desires and ideas are the sketches.✏ - Your thoughts, words, and attitudes are the paint. 🎨 - Your body is the brush. 🖌 - Your actions are the strokes. - Your beliefs are the skills you use to apply the paint. 🙏 - Your faith and gratitude determine how extraordinary your work of art is. 🖼
If your painting isn't turning out the way you'd like it to, investigate which part of the process you're struggling with to master and then change your approach.
Each thought, feeling, and action is something you have the power to change!
I saw this and thought, huh that’s kind of true. If you always wait for the right time to start something new - like a workout routine, eating habits, a book, an adventure - you’ll spend forever making excuses about why it’s not the right time 🕰 •
What if instead we decided to take leaps of faith each day? Arbonne was one of those things for me. I wasn’t planning on jumping into this business, but the opportunity presented itself and I was like - yeah I can do that! #foodforthought#arbonne
the first ramen I ever had in NYC 😙 though now I’ve had many more bowls in many more establishments, this place will forever hold a fond place in my heart. Thx for the memz, @tamashii_ramen_nyc | Tamashi Ramen, Astoria, NYC

Blessings oftentimes come through unexpected, tough turns — failure, disappointment, defeat, break up, and job loss.
I am encouraged by the message. In New York, In my personal experience, it is not as much the people in my life, but the systems that have been put in place that maintain the oppression of Black and Brown skinned people, in the US. These systems will not change if we are passive in our behaviors towards them. We actually have to actively dismantle them and act in anti-racist ways. I really enjoyed this video... it is food for thought @guardian | Repost it. Share it. I clipped it from youtube. Bless ✊🏾
Today’s motto: you can do anything for a minute (by making ALL the faces to get through it!). 🤣 This move was 40 seconds of weighted sumo squats, a 10 second hold, and then 10 seconds of jumping sumo squats without weights. Feel the burn! 🔥 Day 15/21...✅

Hot off the grill, the Chicken Kabobs are flame roasted and served with onion, pepper, and mushroom with zesty lemon glaze 🔥
Gluten free or naturally gluten free! Just highlighting a simple trick to save calories and eat more plants 🌱 Plus a reminder to remember that just because it’s gluten free does not mean it’s exempt from quality standards.
One common issue when deciding to go on a gluten-free lifestyle (for whatever reason that might be) is that most think the gluten-free option is beneficial or nutritious option?
Sure, there are some brands/home cooking recipes which do close similarities to the real thing. But, replicating the Bun which you experienced and associated to many memories is never really going to cut it.
Instead, 90% of the time, personally I do not bother with gluten-free options. When I see gluten free more times than not it screams out “Check the ingredient list!”
The gluten free option on the left has 30 ingredients. Some ingredients you may not be able to pronounce, let alone find in a shop to replicate at home
Simply, thinking of a more plant-based way of alternatives which are great in their own way.
I am not delusional. A lettuce wrap is not a burger bun!
But what I do know is that it;
A) tastes great
C) More accessible
D) Saves Calories for other Foods you enjoy like sweet potato fries or another burger. Whatever suits your needs.
E) naturally gluten free. Great if you avoid gluten.
Instead of jumping straight on to the gluten-free bandwagon swapping like for like which is more expensive too. Think? Can j incorporate more plants in this way as an alternative which of course are naturally gluten-free?
For the fibre fans out there. If you think you're missing out on the fibre from wheat + gluten-free products which is the majority component for your fibre intake. How about increasing your Seasonal fruit and vegetables!
Food for Thought as always ❤️ Ryan

Lunchin on the goods 💯 Chopped spinach topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, poached egg, leftover roasted sweet potatoes, kalamata olives and sesame seeds. I added a spicy tahini dressing after the pic and it was SO good! Hope your week is off to a great start 💛 #veggininthecity
Happiness is finding local organic 🍋 🍓🍇🍉 I’m obsessed with this “everything-lemon” around here. It might be my new favorite fruit.
