I remember years ago sitting in an airport people watching. I love doing that and I don’t know about you, but people are interesting. Anyway, I was sitting there watching this family and thinking, “That is nice that they can afford to all fly together but we will never be able to do that.” We could barely afford me making the flight I was on. I sat there thinking, “Boy, I would love to take my whole family on a flight ✈️ together but I guess we will just drive everywhere because we can’t afford six plane tickets.” I just settled in my mind that that was the way it was going to be. .
Thank God I started dreaming again and changing my mindset . Our mindset is EVERYTHING!!!! Change your mindset and it will change your world. 🌎 As little kids, we all were dreamers. Just think about it.....we would dream of what we wanted to do in life, how many kids we wanted, the house with the little white picket fence, the places we wanted to travel to and the car we wanted to drive. We were dreamers but as we all grew older, we just settled in as this is norm, but it does not have to be. There is opportunity out there, you just have to have your eyes 👀 open for them. God asks us to make the most of EVERY opportunity and He does not put something in front us where He did not equip us to achieve it or He did not want us to have it. We get it in our heads that that is for someone else and not me. He just wants us to be obedient and I believe with that comes blessings. .
We have been blessed because I never gave up on what God put in my path. I started hanging around dreamers and dreaming again. Dreaming for me is so natural now and looking back, I truly missed dreaming for many years. All I can say is, “Don’t be scared to dream.....again, God would not give you a dream if He did not give you a way to achieve it.”
Our family just went and got fingerprinted 🖐🏻for TSA pre-check because of all the travel we do now. It blesses me to travel with my family and now we won’t have to take off our shoes and belts, pull off our jackets or pull out our laptops. Just walk on through and hop on our flight. ✈️ And let the FUN begin.
Heart of Gold - Rasha Kakati
Painted on 09/21/2018 "It's easy to forget who you are in the world we live in. We're always focused on what is external; always thinking of what's next, and always seeking more than what we already have, so much so that we forget to take a moment to introspect and appreciate our core. You almost forget what makes you, you- what your essence is.
When you have a moment to yourself, you look within and find that your essence is strength and persistence. Every beat of your heart is striving to keep you alive, ever since you were in the womb. Every breath you took has always been followed by another. But you usually make it to the end of the day without even thinking about how or why it all happens; as if all that exists is outside you and around you, and nothing seemingly happens within.
Amidst the whirlwind of the commotion happening around you- the rush of time and the race of the world, there is one thing that is fixed. Always trying to maintain a state of balance and stability; that is your core. "Heart of Gold", they say." #Fingerprints
So today I took the bus to the Rite Aid I’m tryna get a job at. I feel so accomplished have done that by myself. It’s a good feeling! I should just continue to use what I know to figure out what I don’t know bc ik buses they are easy to figure out and the subway not so much lol. I feel proud but it’s a quite proud no one to tell but myself. It dropped me off on the right side so I should get on in the left side Also, thank god for transit.
As you may already know, fingerprints of the enslaved are all over Charleston due to our many brick plantations. Yesterday I shook hands with enslaved ancestors though the bricks in Charleston. This hand print is in Philadelphia Alley and fingerprints are on Chalmers Street. #handprint#fingerprints#enslavedmadebricks#webuiltthiscity
Not enough that I am a super recognizer, no! The universe provided me with another gift: I am an expert in every fuckin’ field. A woman of science. This time: CSI-Ruhrgebiet🕵🏽♀️ 🔍
As you can see the glass of white grape flavoured water in my hands, I was investigating on fingerprints that night. I got to realise, after my epic presentation, that the fingerprint looked like a chameleon which lead to another epic presentation. @jpopenny documented this milestone in forensic history!
