4. I see a tentative division of all agency activity into four major domains: Philosophy and Pure Mathematics, Science and Engineering. All possible consequential action sequences may fall exhaustively into one or more of these configuration spaces. That is the first iteration of an intuition. . . . The second iteration of the intuition begins roughly characterizing each of these four configuration spaces, and their relations to the others, such that there's hope I may later find stronger justification for the very general statement regarding all possible consequential action sequences. . . . Science is about learning causality or the facts through more or less well-definable strata from the lowest physical to the most general cosmological levels. Engineering is about putting components of Science together for relatively more specific purposes, including social, political, or economic purposes. Philosophy augments our current cognitive capacities by going beyond our hitherto cognitive limits in Science and Engineering. It tries to make deeper sense of or find meaning 'in the data'. If Science is our sensorium, Philosophy is our super-sensorium. More poetically yet, Philosophy is the rigorous alternative to primitive/traditional religions that helps guide us in our blindness. Pure Mathematics provides the ultimate tools or frameworks for every major domain of agency activity including itself. If we had the power to generate Reality from absolute scratch and make it Absolute Majesty, we would "begin and end" with Pure Mathematics. It's the nature of God.

An engineering marvel. Dome by Filippo Brunelleschi, new facade by Emilio de Fabris.
Construction began in 1296. It continued through the 14th and into the 15th century. Some dozen architects had a part. In 1366 a model was created for the largest dome on the world. But, by the time of construction in 1418, no one was sure how it could be done. There might have been a 143 foot hole in the roof of local genius Filipino Brunelleschi had not won a competition to design the dome. For the next 18 years he oversaw its construction.
A “dome within a dome” design and a herringbone bricklaying pattern were two innovations that made it possible. Brunelleschi designed a lantern to top the dome, but he died in 1446 soon after the first stone was laid. His student completed the lantern.
Another400 years passed before the Duomo received a new, 19th century neo-Gothic facade designed by Emilio Fabris and completed in 1887.
The guilted bronze panels on the north doors of the baptistry are a creation of Lorenzo Ghiberti.
The lower level of the belltower was designed by Giotto. It is 276 feet tall.
