Behind the brick façade of this circa 1900 terrace, classic original features combine with a sensitively implemented contemporary renovation to create an elegant residence on the cusp of Sandy Bay and Battery Point. Privately positioned in a quiet, no through street, original timber windows frame picturesque views of the River Derwent, Royal Yacht Club Marina and Wrest Point Casino in this warm, light-filled home. Generously proportioned open plan living at the rear contains the well-equipped kitchen and dining room opening onto the verandah and verdant garden terrace to create seamless indoor/outdoor living and a sunny space to relax outdoors and entertain family and friends.
When we don’t know how to do something, it’s probably going to feel hard. So let me ask you - have you ever gone through letting go of your kid before? Packed them up and moved them out of your home? If you’re answering no, I’m thinking this letting go thing is going to feel really, really hard for you. It was pretty bewildering for me.
What if I told you that you’ll eventually adjust? How long will that take, you’re asking? ...

Your #guidedreading card for Tuesday, August 21 is Patience. You're in a phase of learning and growing right now. I know you're excited to start implementing what you've learned, but now isn't the time to tackle that piece. Keep soaking up the knowledge you'll need to hit the ground running when the time is right.

This woman right here deserves a HUGE congratulations! Her husband and her decided to sell their property earlier this year. Myself, being a family friend and in the real estate game, reached out to them about having the opportunity of selling their home. After a very challenging process to say the least, we finally sold it! Thank you to @robindsvendsen and co. that even when things seemed “rough” or not going in our favor, your family trusted my team and I to get the job done. Cheers to our mini celebration yesterday and the 👊🏼 bump! (It really made the picture 😂).
One day I’ll look back only to remember how fast these three people were added to my everyday existence. Almost five years ago seems like yesterday as I begin packing for you to return to the womb you came from. What was an overwhelming wave of emotions somehow became part of my daily routine. The extra humans I had to deal with for your care and protection made me fight more, not just for you but for the thousands in the system. Life has a way of helping you unpack residue only to repack it neatly into the right compartments. Well tonight my heart strings sang another goodbye song. Now we wait until we bid so long and welcome weekend visits. #raisinggrandchildren#heartstrings#love#joy#peace#inspiration#family#emptynest#bidfarewell#weekends#rest#amotherslove#suitcase#suitcasetravels#hope
After dropping their son off at college in Michigan, Vicky Piper's husband had an idea to commemorate their new empty nest.
Piper's husband, Jeff, grabbed an actual empty nest. She found an old chalkboard and wrote "empty Nest August 2018." A friend snapped their picture, which was later posted to Facebook. It's since gone viral, with more than 173,000 reactions.
