If you have been following Walk The Ridge for a while you know that our mission is to spread the message of kindness and respect throughout the USA, well, really throughout the world! .
So many are sick and tired of the hating, shaming and blaming that goes on both in person and online. It's exhausting-don't you think? I mean every time you log into Twitter, Facebook, Instagram you are slapped with messages of degradation and shame-especially of those whose are politically or morally opposed. Sadly, it's not just online! I'm sure you have experienced or witnessed harassment or incivility out in your community, at school, at your workplace and maybe even your own home!
We all want to and deserve to live in a peaceful society. .
The question is, how hard are YOU willing to work for it?
After all, while civility is a WE thing it starts as a ME thing.
Are you someone who wishes for it? Are you someone who wants it? Or, are you someone who works for it?
What's the difference? .
When you 'wish' it's often for something you are not sure you can get or not sure it's attainable. When you 'want' something, you feel like you need it and it is obtainable. When you 'work' for something, you put effort into it. It takes sacrifice on your part to achieve it. You recognize the 'want' might be hard to obtain but you are willing to do what it takes to reach the goal.
Together, if we commit to the ‘work’ we CAN achieve the goal. Both sides can do what it takes to get to that ridge! I know it will be a beautiful place when we all get there. I've seen it in my minds eye! I've stood at the top of a mountain and looked down on the valleys and visualized people rising up and walking together in the spirit of kindness and compassion. I believe there’s hope for humanity.
We just have to get out of the 'wish' and 'want' lane and into the 'work' lane.
You Can become the Buddha
The mind is a phenomenal thing but if you get stuck ,it will take you for a ride endlessly. If you are in the mind you are a non stop sufferer.
People associate the word Buddha with Gautama, he is not the only Buddha.
Bu means buddhi or intellect dha means dhadha,
Or one who is above his intellect and one who is no longer a part of his mind. Most people are just a bundle of thoughts , emotions and opinions and of course prejudices.
Your mind is society's garbage bin because you have no choice about what to take and what not to take.
Whichever kind of situation you are exposed to, that is the kind of nonsense you have gathered in your mind.
Our mind is troubled because it is not well up in gratitude, it has choices do this do that rather it is jumping all around the place, it is divided.Divided mind is misery.Always concentrate on one thing. Dual mind or divided mind is the cause of misery.
My happiest moments are those when I am devoid of misery or suffering.
