Early morning workout. Trying to hit the gym early so I can have the rest of the day to study and Coach.
I am thankful to be back in my fortress of solitude.
I’m going to talk about last year because I can and it’s January and January looks to the past and the future to define the present (as represented by its namesake the Greek god Janus). Went from training in solitude multiple days to sharing one training day a week with friends (which was great! Enjoyed that!😁) to suddenly and somehow forfeiting my gym time to coaching athletes in my space or on my time (and yes I am unapologetically using the possessive my). They ended up reaching their goals but I ended up sacrificing the health of my body. The compounding effect of the latter imposition reduced the time I spent working on myself which led to imbalances, heightened pain, and alarming health challenges which impacted my studies and quality of life.
So I am going back to basics. Rebuilding. Focusing on me. No choice. Either gotta move or face severe pain. Allowing time to rebalance, restrengthen, and meditate.
Today was my first time in a while doing flys which has always been challenging for me. I have a long ways to go but I’m willing to get there.
One of my prayers last year was that I be surrounded by those who accept me and all my shades and continue to love me nonetheless. The universe answered with someone who was technically always there, my fuzzy Cuzzy @linandz. Reconnecting with you has been a blessing. Although you are a half-baked pie of madness, your warmth and authenticity are unmatched. Thank you for being in my corner... I love you very much and judge you even more 😜 #mzalaappreciation#countdownto35
