I finished reading ‘My Thoughts Exactly’ by Lily Allen this week. ✨
Psst... I have included the French Cosmo in this photo to bring some colour in it because my Kindle is the cheapest one that looks a bit sad in photos (but it’s still my one true love). Plus the magazine’s article was about her book, so there’s that too.
I’ve been a fan of Lily’s ever since my cousin played her song ‘Smile’ to me and my sister when I was just a wee child. And I’ve been hooked ever since. Sure, I couldn’t understand all the lyrics back the because I was a Finnish kid who had barely begun learning English at school, but it all just worked for me somehow.
Her second album ‘It’s Not Me. It’s You.” was my favourite album for so long when I was in junior high school. I remember trying to find piano sheets for the songs so that I could play them myself. I didn’t find them in any of the music shops that I went to, but I did find some of them online. My piano teacher was so confused, when I started playing “F*ck You”. She probably didn’t think that it was an appropriate song for my piano lessons, but she’s the best so she didn’t mind at all.
But about the book. It was captivating. I didn’t know that that’s truly what her life has been like, and it was interesting to hear the stories behind some of her songs, too. And I liked her writing style - it was so easy to get into and become engaged in the stories. I couldn’t decide whether to give this autobiography 4 or 5 stars so I ended up in the middle.
And I just have to add that FYI I also adore ‘Sheezus’ and ‘No Shame’.🌸
QOTD: Are you a fan of Lily Allen? What’s your favourite song of hers? ♡

BOOK-Ways to live forever
A children's book yet so engaging.❤️
This book revolves around a child name Sam who is suffering from leukaemia. The book is apparently his diary which takes you to his journey of ticking off the things on his list which he wants to do before he dies. 🌈🌸
This book was a roller coaster ride for me. Initially I thought it was really kiddish. But then I felt it's the most powerful and uplifting books I have ever come across. The high spirits of Sam for being positive about everything and the eagerness to do everything he wants motivated me. 💕😌
The book also includes the lists which he made and also some drawings which Sam made and it's very attractive and engaging. .
As Sam grew sicker, it was suffocating for me. It was heartbreaking. It was so engaging and I started to assume that it's me who is dying. You can't just stop. I won't lie but I definitely cried as the book ended. Sally has just woven the words in such a beautiful and engaging way that it breaks the heart of the reader. I demanded strength to read the end. It was so so so far from my comfort zone.😌⭐️
As I finished the book, I inspected myself and felt as if I have ignored my health and took my life for granted. It's a life changing novel which will definitely change your perspective of seeing your life. 👌🏻📖
I would suggest you guys to read this book and go through the roller coaster ride🔥
You won't regret🌸

🌿In the era of internet being a taboo, Riddhi, a BCA student meets up Aarush, an MBA graduate via yahoo messenger. Being Riddhi's first ever experience of chatting via emails, she lied about her whereabouts to Aarush but soon realising it, she corrects her mistakes. They fall immensely in love with each other but for them long distance relationship was hard to manage. Riddhi being a short tempered girl and Aarush being less expressive created alot of chaos in their lives. They both are poles apart but instilled with love from head over heals. But will they be able to make till the end? Will they showcase the difference between a reel life love story and a real life love story? To know more, get your copy from your nearest stores or you can also order it online via amazon. Happy reading ❤
🌿 #My_views - I found the story to be interesting and refreshing. The showcase of issues faced in a love marriage was commendable. The narration was good but it could have been a more detailed one. Easy and good choice of words by the author.
🌿It reminded me of my initial days of using internet when there was no whatsapp and no smartphones.
🌿Great effort has been put forward by the author. I'll highly recommend this book to all the readers out there.

Finally settling into London and made time to go to a cafe and read. Anyone have great reading spot suggestions in London?
Call Me By Your Name has been on my list forever so I’m picking it up finally. Given the Italian summer setting, maybe I should have saved it for my visit to Tuscany later this year? Too late! I’m into it.
Also, I’m grateful to have an edition without the movie poster cover. That always drives me crazy!
Looking for practical ways to make your life more productive?
If you’re in to reading, Make Time by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky is the book for you. Marcus recently read it and explains what he took away to design his work day in a different, more focused way.

SUPERKITTY just received the loveliest review from @fatherreading and little T! Thanks guys! That video is magic ✨😸♥️📚 @hannahlwhitty@simonkidsuk
"What a fantastic little book this is! Epic, engaging and exciting in equal measure! Our new hero is loveable and also rather witty, and her easily distracted partners supply lots of opportunity for humour. There is also a dastardly bad guy and many examples of exciting language! Check out these bad boys;
The illustrations are brilliant – lots of funny detail, some big-scale spreads that we enjoyed and full of both humour and energy!"
A mistaken address and a carriage accident introduces Charlotte Heywood - a sensible and perceptive young lady from a kind-hearted family. To return the hospitality, Charlotte is invited by the Parkers to stay with them at their home in the seaside resort of Sanditon. A commercial urbanisation and current hobby of Mr Parker. He dreams of turning Sanditon into a lively, fashionable bathing resort. .
During her stay, Charlotte is introduced to the full range of polite society. A great lady, an impoverished ward, fashionable young men (in varying degrees of fortune), a family of hypochondriac’s, socialities and helpful busybodies. Let the party of personalities begin! .
The first 11 chapters are pure Austen. She sets the scene and introduces all the characters. The ‘other lady’ Marie Dobbs, continues the story seamlessly. You can barely notice the change until further into the story where the language gets a little bit more modern - and the social activities a little less austen-like. .
If your a fan of Austen and Georgette Heyer, this novel is for you! Myself, I noticed alot of themes and hints of Emma, Mansfield Park and a little bit of Persuasion. Charlotte reminded me of a more open-minded version of Elinor Dashwood. I would have preferred a little more development in a few of the main characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 (only because its not 100% Austen)

Aku baca semula novel thriller ADAM.
Alicia Berenson is a famous painter, married to Gabriel Berenson, a sought-after fashion photographer. One evening she shoots her husband in the face, attempts suicide (from which she was revived) and then stops speaking. No amount of coaxing and therapy can get her to speak.
6 years later, she’s housed in a secure psychiatric facility, the Grove, but she still hasn’t opened her mouth.
Alicia is the silent patient – and this is her story.
Theo Faber, a psychotherapist, has been interested in her case from day 1. He makes it his life goal to be able to reach out to her and treat her someday. When an opportunity presents itself as a vacancy at the Grove, he jumps to the challenge. He applies and is selected.
Once at the Grove, he requests for Alicia’s case and vows to unlock the secrets that she has harboured inside her for so long.
Told alternatively, between the now (from Theo’s perspective) and the then (as excerpts of Alicia’s diary entries, in the days leading up to the murder), this is a dark tale of insights into the human psyche.
Theo himself is struggling with his personal life and marriage, which intertwines with his efforts to get through to Alicia. But, what is Alicia? Is she really the villain or is she perhaps a mere victim? Theo finds himself advocating for Alicia and in the process finds himself over-identifying with her. Of course, its part of the therapeutic process, since a psychotherapist needs to be able to get deep into the emotions of the patient. At the crux of it all, is an ancient Greek tragedy which intertwines itself beautifully into the plot.
A horrendous murder, a woman held captive in the confines of her own mind, and a therapist determined to unlock her secrets - this debut suspense novel is not only well-written, well-paced and tightly-plotted, it is every bit deserving of the rave reviews it’s already receiving.
Every character has something to hide, and the question remains who is manipulating whom; and who is telling the truth?
Please read this - now!
This weekend’s reading - a classic from @sethgodin. So many lessons that are hard to ignore if you really want to create something and make a difference. Last year I was inspired to write a blog post a day for 42 days. This time I’m doing it for a year. Be warned - this book will challenge you in the best possible way. Here a few nuggets of gold... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
The competitive advantage the marketplace demands is someone more human, connected and mature. Someone with passion and energy, capable of seeing things as they are and negotiating multiple priorities as she makes useful decisions without angst. Flexible in the face of change, resilient in the face of confusion. All of these attributes are choices, not talents, and all of them are available to you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
You can spend your time on stage pleasing the heckler in the back, or you can devote it to the audience that came to hear you perform. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
The linchpin feels the fear, acknowledges it, then proceeds. I can’t tell you how to do this; I think the answer is different for everyone. What I can tell you is that in today’s economy, doing it is a prerequisite for success. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Wait! Are you saying I have to stop following instructions and start being an artist? Someone who dreams up new ideas and makes them real? Someone who finds new ways to interact, new pathways to deliver emotion, new ways to connect? Someone who acts like a human, not a cog? Me? Yes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #book#bookreview#sethgodin#linchpin#leadership#art#creativity#shipit

Still trying to figure what the heck it was I just read. It’s like an episode of ABC TV’s The Glitch merged with a Diary of Bridget Jones adventure. The weirdest plot line thread but the nuttiest protagonist really grew in me. Shirley Barrett’s The Bus on Thursday @allenandunwin messed with my mind and made me laugh. If Stephen King holidayed in Tumut, and had a vat of wine with a breast cancer survivor this is the book he’d probably workshopn himself! Worth giving it a whirl this Aussie read. #shirleybarrett#thebusonthursday#whatimreading#australianliterature#aussieread#bookreview#australianauthor
Author Ahmed Faiyaz jotted down a compelling satirical comedy plot based on Publishing Business in India with the pinch of Love, Drama and politics.
Story-line : The book takes you on an journey of poignant Akshay, from how he accepted a position in nearly pulverized firm Kalim and how he figured out how to give 5 Bestselling books inside a range of only in a years. How a few Authors act, to what degree they go just to get their work distributed and how some of the time the distributing firm gets between the Political wars. The good and bad times of Publishing industry have been portrayed splendidly. Additionally, the parts of the book have been written in a kind of logbook days, where every section is signified from 1 to 365 taking peruser on an adventure during the time of powerful.
The portrayal and composing style of the book keeps the peruser locked in. The book is quick paced and intense.Light language & use of funfilled events make reading experience interesting.
I am recommending this book to everyone because its gripping story and different outline. It is short , light read ,entertaining and totally a page-turner. (Read my full review on Goodreads). Thanks @ahmedfaiyazofficial@kitabikeedaofficial .
„The spirit to serve” by J.W. Marriott Jr.
As far as corporate bios go, this one is solid. Thinking how to scale our customer success team at @spaceos_technology I found it very useful & quite inspiring. A good one from the era of no bs.
GUYS! Go to YouTube and watch this video. Then take a close look at what the US tried to pull several weeks ago with Venezuela. If our government can do this crap to a democratic sovereign state, what do you think she can do to us. Pathetic as hell!
"...and she was clever, very clever, as clever as satan himself, it seemed.."
This book is about the famous writer "Paul Sheldon" who had a car accident and saved by the former nurse "Anni Wilkes. She doesnt report the accident tho, she brings Paul home instead. All she wants in return is Paul to make her a novel, a very special one, just for herself. She's number one fan. Paul cant say no, because she's crazy lady and can do things that would make Paul scream and scream 😭😭😭
I just cant imagine being Paul, trapped in a remote house, cant walk, hurt pshycally and mentally, with crazy nurse who can torture him anytime because of lil things like miss-comm 😥😥😥 .
But sometimes you will end-up being emphaty for Anni, even tho she did many crazy things to Paul. Thats what makes this book so brilliant 😬😬😬
Yup, its my second book by Stephen King. Its different from the previous one, its not collection of short stories but, its just a long story. But its a good 👍👍👍
I think im being addicted to his book, im officially his fan now 🤓🤓🤓 Okay thats all, now its time to read Stephen King "Revival" 😁😁😁

Les voyages de Gulliver,
Jonathan SWIFT (1726).

"Naughty John, Naughty John, does his work with his apron on. Cuts your throat and takes your bones, sells 'em off for a coupla stones.”
All the things that you have read about this book are true. I had this book on my shelf for the longest part but as the #readyourshelf19 I wanted to finish this.
Don’t be put down by the size of this book. It reads very fast and the writing is really good. It’s a YA but one of the good ones.
The atmospheric setting of 1920s New York and the characters were the best part about this book.
Evie O Neill is sent to live with her bachelor uncle Will in New York. When her uncle is persuaded by the police to help with a murder investigation Evie , full of life as she is, convince him to be involved in the process. Soon she discovers that something is lurking in the shadows.
The author make me love all the characters in the book. Evie was the worst and the most annoying character of them all. But she made me like her more and more through the book. The characters are in their 17-20 but they are more mature for their age.
I went into this book with the most terrifying feeling. I was not disappointed I really enjoyed the book and want to read the other two in the series.

Aleppo • Rusdi Mathari • EA Books • 2018 (cet. ii) • xii+226 halaman • 3.5/5🌟
❤️ Ask Baba Yaga
by Taisia Kitaiskaia
This is such a strange, odd little book. And I think my review is probably going to be shorter than normal because of this.
Essentially this book is in the style that you’d find in the ‘Agony Aunt’ pages of magazines.
It’s filled with questions that have been asked of Baba Yaga and then her wise, and often quite strange responses follow.
And honestly, who wouldn’t want to get advice from one of the most badass witches around?!
I mean, she lives in a house with chicken legs for goodness sake!
That alone sounds pretty wise to me...
If you’ve never heard of Baba Yaga before then you’ve been missing out and this needs to be rectified immediately!
Baba Yaga is a witch from Slavic folklore. She’s sometimes thought to be a dangerous monster who would eat you as soon as look at you, though sometimes she’s portrayed as a wise, helpful, old woman who you could go to for guidance.
But she always lives in a chicken legged house and flys around the skies in a mortar and pestle, sweeping away her trail with a broom.
The advice from the Yaga within these pages is sometimes surreal, sometimes funny, but always interesting to read!
Here’s a favourite of mine:
Dear Baba Yaga,
How do I trust men when so many have hurt me in the past?
Let me tell you a tale. Sole creature that has no fear is my cat. Once she & I wandered to the pond for poisonous roots. There Cat saw a turtle—to her he was so splendid. For her love, he bit her on the nose. She bled & bled. But next time we went pondwise, Cat looked again for the turtle, her beloved. Cat has now been bitten 13 ways; her nose is nearly missing. Still her eyes gleam for the turtle. Sometimes trust has smaller jaws than want.
The whole book is filled with strange little stories and wise words like this, all interspersed with fantastically bold illustrations.
It’s definitely one to pick up every now and again, not one to read all in one sitting!
I’ll enjoy flicking through these pages when I feel I need a little help and guidance from the ever wise, ever enchanting Baba Yaga!
And I totally lied about this review being shorter...
