“Wistaria and sunshine . . . she remembered the advertisement. Here indeed were both in profusion. The wistaria was tumbling over itself in its excess of life, its prodigality of flowering; and where the pergola ended the sun blazed on scarlet geraniums, bushes of them, and nasturtiums in great heaps, and marigolds so brilliant that they seemed to be burning, and red and pink snapdragons, all outdoing each other in bright, fierce colour. “
Elizabeth von Arnim
Almost twenty years ago (boy does that make me feel old!) my friends Deanne, who taught in the classroom next to mine, handed me Enchanted April on a disgusting, rainy, March day. Portland in March being very much like London in March, this book swept me away and gave me sunny imaginings on soggy dark evenings. For some reason I haven’t read it since so I jumped in on the readalong and have been listening to and reading it all week. And once again, I’m feeling suitably enchanted. Although it’s a good thing today was lovely because all this talk of wisteria and sunshine was giving me serious run-away-to-Italy ideas. Thanks @booksbythecup and @rendezvous_with_reading for the nudge!
" I find that answer vague and unconvincing." - K-2SO, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Who else loves this chaotic droid who says everything he processes? R1 is one of my favourite Star Wars films and I can't wait to see Diego and Alan back for their series on Disney+ it's going to be epic!
Going to dive into this novelization of R1 this weekend! I love the novelizations so much. While, yes, they are basically the script, the authors add their own touch to the story and add more to the plot that I love. I still think The Last Jedi novelization is the best. I love it with a passion.
The title caught my eye and after reading some great reviews I decided to pick up “Where The Crawdads Sing” I’m exited to dive into this book!🤩🧡
Have you read this book yet or want to In the future?! Comment below👇
A book written by a personal trainer who’s been in the U.S. before.
She insists on independence of Japanese women, who tend to get together and do the same things with others.
In Japan, independent women are thought to be working as much as men, but it’s not real “independence” or “self reliance,” she says. What she repeats is “Be yourself.” I really agree with her.
↣ It’s not right, but it’s okay. I’d rather be alone than unhappy. ↢
I’ve been MIA for almost a month now, and it’s mostly just because I’ve been loaded at work that I had limited time to spend time on social media. Also, I haven’t been reading — this reading slump has been haunting me since February. Honestly, just bear with me a little longer until I’ve finished my projects and start reading again. .
The past few month was a Netflix month for me, I’ve been binge watching RuPaul’s drag race! Anyone here who’s a fan? Hit me up so we can fangirl together!!! .

KATARSIS - ANASTASIA AEMILIA [LINK ON BIO; www.rizkyayunabila.com]
Tahun terbit: 2013 (Cetakan ke-1)
New post is live on the blog!🎉
This ones a review of "Daisy Jones and the Six."
Link in my bio! ⬆️
"I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else’s muse.
I am not a muse.
I am the somebody.”
Can you tell from the photo that I don't actually know how to play guitar??😂
It's fine though, because Daisy didn't either...right?🤷

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~C.S. Lewis~
The Answers are in the Forest by Katie Kaleski Spoiler Free Review. *I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for a free and honest review.*
Oh my gosh. Wow. I dont usually like horror. In fact, I'm a massive scardey cat who can't watch horror. But this book sounded far to good to pass up reading. And wow am I so glad I read it. From the shocking reveals, twists and turns to the emotional story telling and addictive writing. This book absolutely had me hooked.
I ended up giving this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I couldn't not give it a high rating. The characters were interesting and well developed throughout the book. The story was, as already mentioned, full of twists and turns, adventure and intrigue. I was on the edge of my seat as this fast paced novel played out. I absolutely adored this book and CAN'T WAIT to read more from this author!
New town. New house. Unexplainable occurrences.
It didn’t take me long to figure out that there’s something strange about the house my mom and I moved in to.
Weird drawings, toys appearing out of nowhere, the sound of footsteps and kids giggling at night—it all points to one thing…our house is haunted.
Instead of packing my stuff and running as far away from the creepy house as possible, I decide to investigate. Risky? Stupid? Maybe. But rather than feed my fear, the mystery that surrounds the haunting leaves me wanting answers.
The pile of questions I have leads me straight to Rusck and his twin brother. Oh, and did I mention there’s a talking rabbit as well? Yup, this particular rabbit seems to be possessed by a five-year-old girl—which only raises more questions.
To love someone was not what she had expected. It was like falling from somewhere high up and breaking in half, and only one person having the secret to the puzzle of putting her back together.
And that was reading for her. It was loving and falling and all again. It was breaking and feeling and leaving her pieces in the pages of the stories that gave her their own back.
So I just finished this book. For the first 50 pages I was confused and didn't like it. But after that I ended up finishing the rest in one sitting. And let me say. I've never cried so much while reading a book😭😭 My heart hurts. But I recommend. (Maybe don't read if you dislike sad books though...I know, I'm odd😂)
What's the saddest book you've ever read?
Doctor Kate English is having a hard time coping with her mother’s recent death after she was discovered murdered in her home. Lily who is Kate’s mother was looked up to in her wealthy Baltimore community. The day of her mother’s funeral Kate starts to receive threatening letters, texts and dead mice sent to her home. Whoever murdered her mother is set on hurting Kate and her family. When the police start to investigate the murder and threats , Kate’s fear and paranoia sets in when more and more threats continue. At the funereal Kate’s estranged childhood friend Blair arrives, Blair steps up trying to help Kaye figure out who is behind her mother’s murder and the threats. Kate begins to feel like she’s losing her mind. Everyone around who she use to trust she believes now could be a suspect. Kate once believed she had the perfect life before her mother’s murder, now it’s seems like it was just a dream because she’s now fearing for her life along with her husband and young daughters. Her mother’s murder starts to unleash hidden secrets from the past and the family that seemed so perfect from the outside is now being threatened and Kate is wondering who will be the next to die? I read this book quickly and it had me guessing right up to the end! I give this four stars. I loved @livconstantine2 debut novel The Last Mrs.Parish so I was so happy to receive an early copy of The Last Time I Saw You by the publisher! This was a great thriller! #livconstantine#harperbooks#bookphotography#readingtime#bookreview#readingcorner#bookobsessed#readabook#bookstagram#bookworm#bookish#booklover#thriller#suspensebooks#bookgeek#bookreviewer#bibliophile#booksbooksbooks#partner
I totally stole this idea from @yaallegiance if you aren’t following her - you should be 🙂Who is your most owned author? As you can see Stephen King is mine 📖 I couldn’t get my Dark Tower series in on this lol it was too much 😂 but coming up in second place for me is definitely Philippa Gregory. •
#QOTD : on average, how many books do you read in a month? How are you doing with your Goodreads goal if you set one? 💫
I usually manage to read around 8 books a month even if it’s a busy month. I set my challenge for 50 books and I’ve already read 40, which means I’m averaging at around 10 books a month this year. Though that also has a lot to do with me reading more graphic novels.
