The easiest thing to do is respond and react emotionally and get mad, upset or pissed off, what takes great strength is responding rationally and with some sense and that requires 4 steps:
#1 Pause: Before you react or respond, take a second, pause, don't respond right away. Take a moment and think before you speak or act
#2 Breathe: Take a quick moment to breathe and relax for just a second. Breathing helps you calm down and slow down before you add to the fire .
#3 Process: Most importantly, think about what just happened, why you are feeling these feelings and what is the best way to respond, logically and rationally. By doing this you avoid responding on emotions, which can sometimes make a situation a lot worse than make it better
#4 Respond: With doing the above steps, you are thinking a bit more clearly now and you can move forward with your response. And keep in mind, sometimes the best response can be no response or "give me some time on this one" ...because sometimes all you may need to do for that moment is walk away and regroup, and that is okay! .
These steps require practice, it is not easy to stay rational with certain situations but I can tell you that it's worth it when you stay mindful of yourself and reactions, it avoids unnecessary hurt and rejection .

4 easy steps for one of my favorite dishes ever - salsa chicken! 💃🏼🍗 All you need is 8-16oz chicken breast and 1 jar of salsa! Cover chicken and cook on low in the crock pot for 6 hours and then use 2 forks to shred! Make this into tacos, a salad, burrito bowl, quesadillas, literally anything you want!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I love this cause you can put it in before work and then dinners ready when you come home! ❤️
