I am so proud of these kids! They have progressed in their speaking skills wonderfully since last year! We had a few face their fears by doing their first public speech! I couldn't be prouder of them. It is truly a privilege to be able to be their president, and be able to guide them, and help them reach their goals in 4H.
My girl is a big time animal lover. Horses and dogs are her favorite but she loves all animals and has such s big heart for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if she chooses a career later on that involves animals. What’s your favorite animal and why? 🤗
been a busy but very rewarding week between A long 3 days at the North American Livestock Exposition and getting my certification this weekend at Lake Cumberland State Park to be a 4-H Livestock Leader for the goats and my momma as my co-leader!
Met a lot of great people from an array of Kentucky counties that hopefully I’ll be able to collaborate with again in the future!
Next up... Nelson County Goat Club coming soon!!.
So I built these for my daughters last week. My oldest, Martie won Reserve Champion Steer in 2017 at 4-H on Parade. Clara won Grand Champion Steer in 2018. 4-H on Parade is the largest 4-H Show in Canada and one of the largest livestock shows in North America. They don’t give buckles for Grand & Reserve, so I wanted to commemorate it for them myself.
I was a little short on room (& patience with cutting those letters), so the insides of the rings have the year and the show.
Super proud of their hard work and accomplishments. 🍀
Drove up to Shawnee for the APA national meet. Joseph did very well. His pastel call ducks won best and reserve variety with several birds in this variety. Splash Marans pullet won best variety and his blue ameraucana pullet won reserve variety. Pretty good day. We even watched a judge work the runner ducks. #4H
So long Louisville! Had an awesome time with this group competing as the first California team ever in the National 4-H Livestock Skillathon! We placed 11th overall in the nation and I couldn’t be prouder of my team ❤️🍀 #naile#4H
Randy Shettlesworth, volunteer for 10 plus years, Fairview Friends 4-H Club Co-leader: “I got involved in 4-H because my wife was a 4-Her. I immediately saw what a great organization it is and understood why my wife loves it and wants our girls to be part of it. There are so many ways to get involved. Parents are very important to 4-H and it really is a family organization. We do a lot because we are club leaders, but all of the volunteer roles are important. Unlike sports, which my girls do as well, we get to work alongside our kids as they learn and grow. Even when another volunteer is leading the event or project, parents can be there too, helping their member or other members or encouraging them to keep going.” _________________________________________________________ Be a @Missouri4H volunteer!
