It’s been a good week for toys!
I’ve sculpted a lot of stuff with my friends, the legendary @four_horsemen_studios over the years, and they’ve leant their skilled hands to a TON of amazing franchises. Of all the things they’re known for.. Masters of the Universe might be #1.
I’ve only had the privilege of sculpting one figure for that line.. and she just showed up on my doorstep. Granita!
When I started on the project, I wasn’t as super familiar with her as I was with the more OG MotU characters like HeMan, Skeletor, #Beastman etc.. or even the other stone-based figures,Rokkon and Stonedar... but this is MotU we’re talking about, I’ll take what I can get!
Granita was a real challenge, particularly when it came to incorporating her folding stone transformation! Also, I had to sculpt.. So. Much. Stone.
The thing I love the most about sculpting collectibles and toys is that with each new figure, I get to relive a part of my childhood. Be it for #gijoe or #dccomics or #starwars or #motu etc... when Im working and find myself vividly remembering being a wild, curly haired(sniff, I remember having hair!) ten year old, playing in the dirt with my friends and cousins with our plethora of actions figures.. waging massive endless battles.. ahhh..that’s the real stuff! Probably the whole reason I do what I do today.
