Painted pottery warehouse of five floors (from Eastern Jin Dynasty, 1.61m in height, now collected by Jiaozuo Museum)
with commissioned 3D archive: http://bit.ly/2X5lyhf
When we talk about Han and Jin Dynasty, we often think of the history of peace and prosperity during these periods, and the pottery warehouse, discovered at the mausoleum in Eastern Han Dynasty, is one of the many clues that leads us to the colorful daily life of people at that time. As the five-storey pottery model shows, high buildings are no foreign to Chinese architectural tradition. Consisting of a courtyard, a magnificent main building, a graceful annex building and a flying corridor, the as-built of this model can be considered an ancient version of skyscraper. The 26 units that make up this pottery house can all be dismantled and assembled like Lego, but at the same time, manifest together as a perfect whole. The artifact indicates advanced architectural skills and highly developed economy during the Han Dynasty. #augmentedreality#3dmodeling#3dreconstruction#handynasty#ancientart#architecture#lego#skyscraper#ancientarchitecture#building#warehouse#pottery#ceramics#mausoleum#instahistory#archaeologist#worldhistory#design#tradition#corridor#courtyard
SiteSeer Location 3. Once I had figured out the photogrammetry technique for large scale natural locations, I immediately thought of Arches National Park. The scanning math really seemed to like the red rocks and I had a new excuse to shoot 1500 more pictures in a wonderful location. The end of the film shows the overall structure of the program, where the panorama nodes contain the 3D scan and overlaid 2D elements. These nodes are then connected by hyperlapse sequences which allow branching while the user explores the hexagonal structure. Someday! Special thanks to @itsreuben for the vibes and to @beeduul for the topo math. #siteseer#utah#archesnationalpark#3dreconstruction#timelapse#hyperlapse#photogrammetry#vr#softwaredemo

I. M. Pei, one of the greatest mordernist architect, died today at the age of 102. He was the Pritzker Prize winner in 1983, and known famously for his deisign of the glass-topped extension of Paris’s Louvre Museum. In 2014, the Oriental Metropolitan Museum co-designed by I.M. Pei and his son Chien Chung Pei finished its construction and was opened to public, and we cooperated with the museum in 3D documenting the architectural structure, as well as providing immersive 3D virtual tour to all that are fond of architecture and history of the region. Looking at it again and wandering through those exhibtions, we want to pay tribute again to this honorable man.
The Oriental Metropolitan Museum is built on the ancient walls and drainage system of Nanjing city, enabling visitors to re-enter the Chinese world more than 1500 years ago. Also, the exhibition space grasps the literary and artistic essence during the Six-Dynasties Period by inviting in Chinese traditional garden landscapes. Visitors would have the experience of exploration in a labyrinth, encountering ingenious shows one after another. #architecture#nankin#nanjing#museum#virtualtour#immersive#3dmodeling#photogrammetry#3dreconstruction#pointcloud#documentation#architect#louvre#orientalmetropolitanmuseum#impei#i .m.pei #archive#virtualreality#vr
Big and nasty ameloblastoma at right mandible. It is locally invasive benign epithelial odontogenic tumour & represents approximately 1% of oral tumors. About 80% of ameloblastomas occur in the mandible mainly the third molar region and the remaining 20% in the upper jaw. One of the treatment is segmental mandibular resection & reconstruction with autogenic bone graft such as iliac or fibula bone.
SiteSeer Location 2: This was a particularly photogenic footbridge in the Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve. For the 3D capture, I used a now-defunct app called Photofly, which created the mesh from about 120 photos of the site. The 3D mesh was in the center of a 360 degree photo panorama. They lined up well as long as the viewer didn’t travel too far from the center. 2D photo/video elements were dropped on top and lined up with the background, to add some context to all those nature selfies. I was quite honored to collaborate with @itsreuben on this project. #3dreconstruction#hyperlapse#timelapse#naturephotography#panorama#virtualreality#vr#softwaredemo
This is a project called SiteSeer from a few years back that I’m quite proud of. I taught myself 3D as a fun break from the tedium of stop-motion (maybe not the best idea). The concept of this film was a heavy-duty photo visualization tool that could re-assemble all of my still photography, time-lapse, hyper-lapse, panoramas and 3D captures of a particular natural location for further exploration in an VR/AR environment. This is the first location in the Marin Headlands. I was quite honored to collaborate with @itsreuben on this one! #3dreconstruction#hyperlapse#timelapse#naturephotography#panorama#virtualreality#softwaredemo
I took 50 photos of an almost-gone candle and used them to build a 3D reconstruction of the original object. This is terrible and very lazy photogrammetry but I love how the warmth and glow is still so very apparent, even if the real form of the object is lost. As a bonus, my apartment smells lovely right now.
Attorneys Siannah Boutté and Thomas Conroy of Simon Law Group secured a $41.6 million verdict for a disturbing case where Canadian graphic novelist defendant tortured and murdered his fiancée Diana Kasian. The gruesome torture methods that he used on the mother of his child were based on a graphic novel that he had already written. The defense withdrew from this case, which meant that the plaintiff attorneys had to clearly illustrate the magnitude of horrific damages that occurred to Diana Kasian. The total verdict following a two week bench trial was $41.6 million, with $10 million in punitive damages assigned against the defendant.
The Simon Law Group utilized MotionLit’s Video and Trial Technician Support team to assist with demonstrative graphics, courtroom technology, and visual presentations during the trial. Displaying the brutal crime scene images on a big-screen TV during questioning helped the jury to understand how much pain and torture Kasian had experienced before her death. Bringing MotionLit’s cutting-edge video technology and trial tech services to this case was a crucial factor in this substantial verdict.

Attorney @gerrymarcus of The Law Offices of Gerald L. Marcus secured a substantial settlement for his client who fell victim to the city’s negligence and poorly maintained premises that caused permanent injuries.
The plaintiff was driving down the street in the lane closest to the median of a two-lane street. The defendant – a commercial landscaping company worker tending the median strip, mowed over a 28-inch rod. The rod then shot out and struck the plaintiff in the face, leaving him legally blind in the left eye.
The gardener did not check the median for any objects before beginning to work and failed to properly check the mower for defects and repairs.

Happy Chinese New Year from Altizure! 🏮We are seeing a lot of CNY themed models in the past couple of weeks, like this lion statuette. 🦁Lions play an important role in Chinese mythology, and represent joy and happiness. Lion dances are performed accompanied by the music of beating of drums, cymbals, and gongs instruments synchronise to the lion dance movements and actions. The dance usually consists of two people acting as one lion; one waves the lion head and the other controls the lion's body. People perform lion dance to bring luck and to get rid of the devil. This tradition can be traced back to a story that took place long ago. Find more models on Altizure.com
