I am so proud of Fitz and Anthony. They are killing it week over week and seeing the fruit of their labour.
Their workouts are better, they have been injury free for so long I can’t recall the last issue.
Keep it going, y’all. Get better every day!
"It is essential to warm up and prepare your body for exercise. Get your blood flow going with a light jog, walk, jump rope, jumping jacks, or whatever you enjoy doing. It only takes about 5 mins." -@timbo_slic3d 🙌 Thanks for the solid coaching!
Last race of the year at a rainy Florida. Finished 6th overall in a fast, wet and short race. I'm satisfied with the ranking, coming back from an injury and not having done a proper run in 3 weeks this was the best what I could do. My avg heart rate was 171, max was 195, and recovery time was 72h 😅. Definitely need a bit more time before I am fully back.
I didn't fail any obstacles, and more importantly my hamstring didn't hurt before, during and after the race. So recovery is heading in the right direction. Looking forward to the off season and some rest, but I will be back next year 💪.
Furthermore, thank you @mackroesch for letting us stay at your place!!! Congrats to @athlete_heather_gollnick for taken 1st female, and @isaiahvidal for 2nd place and his 76 podium!
Leaving today’s Spartan Sprint with a lot of mixed emotions. Mad that I let my first top 5 finish slip through my fingers, but excited to learn that I can compete with these guys. Being up there after yesterday’s beast felt good but not good enough. Four straight 8th place finishes to end 2018 has made me hungrier, and I’m excited to start 2019 healthier and faster than I’ve ever been.
Got to chat with @isaiahvidal after the race today and was really inspired. Great guy with some awesome advice, making me love the sport even more. Here’s to sharing my “why” in 2019!
Anotha one with @tylerglenn92 .
Took a top 10 finish amongst a pretty strong field; feels pretty good and validates some dietary changes I’ve made in the past month. Let’s see if I can replicate it at the Sprint tomorrow and finish off 2018 strong 💪
I think this was my 3rd run since @tough_mudder World's Toughest Mudder 3weeks ago. I definitely didn't plan to take all that time off, but a week after WTM I got bronchitis and a minor flu. To make things complete I also got a weird hamstring injury.
In summary, I couldn't do much last couple of weeks, and I dropped like 7lbs (I don't weight that much to start off with)
Still not 100% recovered, but at least I can start running and strength training. Today my Garmin recommended 62h of recovery after 1h trail run at which normally is my easy pace 😅.
Things don't go as planned, but that's life. Adapt, improvise, overcome 💪. Looking forward to getting back into my run/workout routine.
