Mother Nature isn’t always easy... sometimes she brings in ice and snow and freezing temps, but thanks to @lifetimefitness_dublin we don’t have to use Mother Nature as an excuse to slack off... we moved our speed work indoors and had a successful night running side by side. A lot of runners despise the treadmill, but it can be a gift when the conditions are dangerous and it can also be a lesson in flexibility. Race day will rarely go exactly as you planned... you will need physical training to get you to the finish, but you will also need equal quantities of mental conditioning... forcing yourself to get the workout in, when the conditions are pushing you back to your blankets can build both. Keep moving, Dublin Run Club! •

An absolute beaut of a day today. A properly below freezing winter run. Had to be careful on the back roads as they were still icy, where the rain running down the hills from yesterday had frozen over and wasn’t in the mood for melting. I was a bit gutted as my run was below 9 min miles till the last bit. Never mind!better to have a slow run than injure myself in ice.
I was worried today might be a bit of a blue day, as we were suppose to have our remission appointment with the hero Dr Penn. That is now next Thursday. But we all woke up in a good mood, we had an early morning family kitchen dance to start the day which started everything off properly. Thanks to @bbc6music for the proper tunes this morning. You got us through our disappointment.

The Evil Smiley Veteran's Day Run is the perfect way to celebrate and remember those who have served our country. It is our privilege to be able top take the torch from Jared Bane who started this event in 2013, in order to recognize and honor all of our Military Veterans, Active Duty, Reserves, Spouses and Friends of the Military. Our mission will be the same, to honor those who served and support those that support our military families.
This event will evolve in some ways in order to grow the event and recognize the Heroes in our community and beyond. We have changed the start/finish of the event to the University of Wisconsin – Parkside outdoor track. There will be a 21-Gun-Salute to start our event, in order to recognize our Fallen Soldiers and Veterans that have past away in 2019. Names will be provided by you and other sources. We will also present the colors. When signing up, you will have the opportunity to secure a flag that will line the start/finish area to honor or in memory of a military hero in your life. We will have staggered start times and we will have post event party and ceremony.

Exact course distances have not been finalized as of this date (1/17/2019), but will be very close to these distances ⬇️
2 mike run/walk (must be able to finish in 90 minutes) Start time 10:30am. This distance will take place on the road that loops around the UW Parkside campus.
4 mile run/walk (must be able to finish in 90 minutes) Start time 10:20am. This distance will start on the track but will head northwest on the bike path and follow the multi-use path through picturesque Petrifying Springs Park and return to the track.
7 miles *run only* (able to finish in 1 hour 45 minutes) Start time 10:20am.
Post event party: Kenosha Running Company, 1706 - 22nd Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53140 -- starting at 1:30pm. There will be awards, food, drinks, socializing, and a few surprises.
