Important lesson to enjoy your stay in Japan. We have a good proverb.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do
This proverbs may sound bit strong. But the lesson this proverb is telling you is pretty helpful to make your experience in foreign countries great 👍 In my experiences I applied some Japanese cultures while I was in out side of Japan. If I did that, I always got in troubles related to money (ex: Ripped off) or safety (ex: Came across thief etc), or got pretty negative comments. .
At a cafe In NY, I just wanted to order coffee☕️ , but my pronunciation was wrong, then they totally ignored me😭 Also at convenient store, I didn’t understand what she said when she asked me if I needed plastic bag or not. She obviously got irritated and laughed at me😭 So I ended up eating foods that I got from Whole Foods while I was there. .
But I still liked English and kept studying. So here I am. Next time when I visit NY, I will be okay! .
